Broken tooth

Was eating a soft sweet earlier and my tooth snapped.

Its a molar and there isnt much of the tooth left to be honest with the centre filled and the 4 corners left....well 3 corners and the bit that has separated.

I have an emergency appointment tomorrow at 2.30.... yes tooth hurty lol.

My question is I would like them to just stick a needle in me and pull out the broken bit then deal with deciding to extract it or fill it next week.

Selfish I may be but only get 1 weekend a month and Saturday night is my only free meet time. I need to be able to use my mouth Saturday.

Do you think the dentist will do that.

Am soooo as free time is so limited for me.

I need sympathy please and advice from anyone that kniws please.

I doubt it unless it's beyond saving.

21st century dentistry is about conservation and a good dentist will do everything they can to avoid and extraction if for no other reason that once it's out they can never earn another penny from that tooth.

Perhaps as important to the patient, teeth help maintain the shape of the face. If you like the shape of your face, try to save the tooth.

That happened to me a few weeks ago. I thought there was nothing left of the tooth to save and I was dreading her taking it out. But she filled it and it was absolutely fine within a couple of hours. They might just fill it for you and you'll be fine. x

If there is enough left he may put a tempt filling over it and rebuild later. If there isn't enough left to rebuild maybe crowned or extraction may be needed.
