Exactly, medical assistance to transition is typically difficult to get, its not the handing out treatment like candy some of the printed media likes to suggest. As far as I know the NHS adult gender clinc waiting lists are by far the worst in the service. Once you start treatment the GPs are meant to assist but many do what ever they can to resist doing so. The medical procedures are painful and requires prolonged ongoing post treatment care by the patient, but from those I know who have gone through them less so than carrying on with the constant body dysmorthia. Other treatments like electrolysis is like getting you face tourtured for an hour or two a week for months. | |||
