Made a mistake looking up an old friend on Google

Going back over 35 years ago now I was close friends with a woman.. clever, (cleverer than me) met at uni,

We went everywhere together - ... Sky diving, mountaineering, hiking and camping, pub sessions, we was scared of going up Blackpool tower, so held hands and walked over with full trust in each other...

Anyway.. we were talking types of people we'd go for..

She mentioned I was exactly her type .. which made me realize I was falling for her big time. So asked her if shed be more than friends.

She said we were dating. Eh? I thought.. but anyway

I moved closer to her, she was just staring at the camp fire.

Glow. I asked her if I could kiss her but she turned her head away, I said kiss me Alison. She nearly did but looked away..

Following morning was fuckin awkward.. she never spoke to me the full day as we walked back to the car park. Got in her car and back home.. longest 3 hours ever spend

Dropped me off without a word .

I was gutted! .. frankly I got pissed out of my head, called her but no answer.. and joined the army to try to make a new start..

Now after leaving the army felt ok about it all... Until I made a big mistake.

I mean a HUGE one with fekin bells hanging off the fooka!

I googled her full name, and got a thunderbolt straight through my heart..

Read what she'd been doing, did what we were going to do together.. but did it herself.. she being smarter than me , really Brain box.

Running a business in Australia.

She had a write up in local news because she's now back over here.

She apparently read up about me in the army and where I served.. what job I did.. dhe didn't forget me

I'm now so fucking chewed up. She's still single and now I miss her so much. I never drank for years but back on it. I never smoked before ever but asked a woman if she had a spare ciggy in the street and she lit it for me..

U am fuckin gutted again. 60 fucking years old and crying like a fuckin baby cos it really fuckin hurts because I googled her this morning. God it's painful hopefully

Will get over her again

Yup I'd have another drink but drank it all dry

- not to be harsh but much of this involves supposition & fantasy around this lady and what could have been. You seem a bit low at the moment so think she could have solved all your issues but I can guarantee this lady’s life isn’t as perfect as you think. Reflect wallow a bit then up and at them

She didn’t want you then. She’s definitely not going to want you now. Get over yourself!

Although releasing the trauma from the rejection at the time is probably a good thing.

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

How do you know she read up about you?

If you're in contact, ask her if she fancies a go at it now.

If not, happy memories and move on.

It's never really a good idea to bring the past back up.
