It just sounds disgusting! But then I guess others might think that 'Kickapoo Joy Juice' is not something to try (but as a primary school kid in an exotic country, it was the bees knees) |

I have quite a how do you know till you try approach to life. Which has got me into a fair bit of trouble on occasion, I must admit.
I'm a curious, experimental creature, but I've kind of been introduced to a love of coffee many moons ago by associating with French, Italian and Spanish people at uni and then spending a fair bit of time in France and Spain. Pre Starbucks designer coffee style revolution.
Am I being a snob? A purest? I suppose I should see what all the fuss is about. Or will I be corrupted, caught in the gravity well of consumerism...
Coffee is a village square, with worn, but quality wood tables. Gitane smoking french women, sipping espresso and momentarily losing their composure in the taste and then glancing out of the corner of their eyes to see if you noticed. The smell as it hits your nose that stops you in your tracks. The texture like drinking silk.
I'm not sure if I want to replace that with a paper cup filled with squirty cream and toppings like a Blackpool Mr Whippy. Like I'm all into fusion, but I don't know if I can do it. Can the two co-exist? Or is it never the twain? |
