Well, can you?

Are you self-aware? Either on here or outside of here? Does it differ?

I love the idea that they're sitting next to each other on the sofa exchanging these messages on here.

I have an internal dialogue and it has opinions. Whether those opinions are worth printing on toilet paper is another matter

Self awareness for me is being able to self reflect being aware of fears insecurities strengths and weaknesses... recognising biases and being able to master them all through action.

I keep banging my head on the one in the larder, that’s a shelf that I really should be more aware of.

Yes, not infallibly no delusion of perfection whatever that may be. No expectation for others to live by my beliefs or values. Very much appreciate and learn from diversity.

Self-awareness without self-acceptance can be a mindfuck.

I am pretty self aware but sometimes the voices in my head drown out any sense!

Self-awareness without self-acceptance - good point. How do you move from one to the other?

I totally agree with this. My self awareness increased much faster than my self acceptance. But I got there. With...

Therapy. A lot of fucking therapy.

I am. The people that I used to call friends I realise now were not.

You know the advert, the meerkat in the cinema...then that other animal thingy comes along and talks and talks and pushes the popcorn and the drink....I get annoyed at that coz that's how people are with me

None of that made sense to the OP

The precision, the striking to the heart of the matter. Like your last question. It's sexy in a way that makes me forget about good or bad.

I moved from an external to internal locus of evaluation. I established my beliefs and values and concerned myself more with my self-respect than I did with being liked by others. That used to plague me hugely.

That's not to say I do not care about others. I find the more I am self-accepting the more I care and empathise with others, even those I do not like or agree with.

The people I like and who know me. What they think of me means a lot to me.

I don't think anyone's ever called my questioning style sexy before I'll take it, thanks!

Sounds like you've done a lot of work, Hans. I get your point about accepting yourself means you are more likely to accept others. I've never framed it like that but I agree.

That's very definite. No shades of grey? I'm not sure if I do. Sometimes I think I just don't want to see it.
