Does ones own appreciation of art - be it painting, music or literature - depend upon ones mood or intellect. Or both.

Judith Durham has an exeptional voice. But we have to be in the right frame of mind to listen to the seekers.

John Mortimer and Rumpole. Love it. But not every night.

So.

Are we alone.

very much depends on mood. Some days I want to listen to classical music sometimes to pop or whatever.it's called now lol. Sometimes I want to read Bronte sometimes a magazine.

Mood certainly, intellect most probably... experiences most definitely.

I have albums I've been listening to for years and always enjoyed but as I've aged and experienced different things in life, lots of songs, films and wotnot take on a whole new meaning and trigger whole new emotional responses

Not with art (paintings etc). I could look at Ralph Steadman' work any day of the week and still love it.

"Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known."
