.

Firstly, the BBC is constantly reporting that Hamas as delivering acts of terrorism. As are all the mainstream press at the moment.

But why would someone on in this thread suddenly talk about The Sun and its reporting on Oxfam??

That's as daft as demanding that Gary Lineker (who is from Leicester, a great multicultural city) suddenly comes out raging against Hamas (or even Israel - there is a case for both!) because of what he said a few months ago about asylum seekers that so upset GBNEWS and it's fans.

It's so reactionary and polarised - it's not realistic or rational or even in any way logical really.

RE The Sun, people could easily respond by saying that the Oxfam scoop (a pretty grotty story anyway) was an exception that 'proves the usual rule' in terms of 'top level' journalism.

Or (better for The Sun) they could use the 'stopped clock' analogy and say The Sun will simply do something good by a statistical accident periodically.

Sam fox’s mum entered pictures of her in lingerie into a modelling contest when she was already 16, then was approached by the sun after that.

As I've actually said to you before in a different thread (to answer your constant 'naive' questions ), The Sun newspaper *can* be on the extreme side (it can also be right of centre of course) but in general is sits-on and supports the political right.

It feels like you just can't handle the idea that something that you are (ie right wing) can also be particularly toxic (hard or even far right). Well sorry, right wing politics is not the natural 'answer to life' - it can all too easily be taken to all kinds of unpleasant extremes.

I'm afraid that hard right politics simply exists in this world, and is an easy thing to reference every single day.

Exactly. Tabloid newspapers on the whole are only interested in sensationalist shite, programmed to appeal to the terminally daft. Phone hacking, potentially ruining murder enquiries for a story, making up stories about British soldiers torturing prisoners, aligning with the blackshirts and Mosley, blaming the victims of Hillsborough for their own deaths and propping up this horrendous government we've had for the past 13 years by preying on people's fears of anything that is 'the other'. We'd be in a far better state without them.

I was elated when Murdoch said he was stepping away from his responsibilities. I don't wish ill on many people, but the only news that will be better is when he finally croaks.

100% true unfortunately. Same here in Ireland. Most of the media owned by tax dodging billionaires with their own agenda. All anti union, anti protest pushing their own self interest."

How much of the Irish press is "The Irish" Sun, Mirror, Mail etc?

.

Do you yourself read both the Mirror and the Sun? They are both so different to each other. I'll look at either when I see them.

The Sun has probably always sold more papers, but it tows right-wing 'populist' line vs the more left-wing one of The Mirror. Whether you will find that 'farer' or not will of course depend on your politics!

pt

Hard right surely

.

"The Sun didnt give fabswingers a very goo d right up this morning"

I don’t read it as the sun not giving this site a good write up but simply quoting what people have apparently said on trustpilot.

Let’s face it, the vast majority on here rarely ever actually do meet anyone and that’s not the fault of those running this site, or the sun, or trustpilot.

Follow me around do you? I only recognise you from the dumb political threads where nothing is allowed to be explained properly and everything gets reduced to the point where people aren't even allowed to put the word 'hard' next to 'right' without censure.

Woke people evil! We fight woke people! Snowflakes the enemy! They cancel us from stopping everything! They too dumb to see the Truth!

How do you know its sales figures? They refuse to publish them. Have done so ever since they stopped soaring away

On the basis of the last published figures in 2020"

Haha, newspaper used to be used, back before the advent of affordable soft stuff. It was torn into strips and hung on the wall on string

My uni hall of residence had that. Good as a tracing paper alternative, however, I'd cycle in to the Whitworth Hall to use the posh loo roll they had there.

Forget The Sun...cut out the middle man and take a look at the Trustpilot reviews. Similar disgruntled views that are trotted out on the forums but using words that would get you banned....guess that's why they aren't on here any more.

Warning...if you are of a sensitive nature maybe don't read the Trustpilot reviews

Are there really trust pilot reviews? Amazing. What an age we live in when swingers / sex sites are reviewed... Are there any "I was treated with respect and sucked like a Dyson" reviews on there?
