Why do I always wake up at this time?

For the past week I've been waking up at 2/3am and it's really starting to piss me off .
I'm not in the mood for sex and I'd hate to wake Mr when he's up in a couple of hours for work anyway.
I got really pissed off yesterday with something and I've put my pride aside and asked for help on this matter.. Revealing to people what I've been going through the last few years
I need a cup of tea, a cuddle and my forehead kissed.
And yes, please feel sorry for me whilst I pick myself up from the floor.

You’re not alone. I too was up around this time, almost every night without fail.
I usually try to read a few pages of a book to try and send myself back off.
Seeing as you’re already fixed for tea, I’ll kiss ya forehead and stroke your hair. |

You're a gentleman. Thank you. A hair stroke would be amazing, my leg hairs are getting long enough to run between your fingers now.

"This isn’t a one off, I often wake up in the early hours.
I find 20 minutes of doom scrolling tends to make my eyelids heavy."
I think I'm just going to read a book. Mr is up in a hour and I'll have a cup of tea with him then.

The thing about Clare - Imogen Clark. I really like her writing style. My unlimited kindle subscription finishes in a few days so need to get through it before I lose access to the book. Then I can make a start on my 200 physical TBR pile

Is it good? I was looking at that the other day.
They were doing 3 months free the other day… I just signed back up. |

I'm only about 30% through but I'm finding it OK. I don't necessarily find her books have wildly intricate story lines but I do find them an easy read which I enjoy sometimes

Lots on your mind?
If you find it difficult to talk to anyone, write them down like a diary, never read it back to yourself though, i find this a great way to vent off……. oh and don’t have any caffeine after noon, if you do that is. |

A ton.

I do have my husband to talk to, thankfully. I usually walk to clear my mind a bit. I'm looking forward to the kids getting up so we can go out.

Sounds like something stressful that has been building up. Hopefully now it's in the open you can get outside help to fix it. When the stress eases your brain will stop waking you in the night. If you expect to wake at 2am for the next week you can be ready for it. Maybe trawl the forums, they're usually pretty WTF at night.
Hope things get better. |

I've been doing similar. Feels like my body clock has shifted. I put mine down to being menopausal but that probably isn't the case with you, OP
It's frustrating and I haven't founda way to break the cycle yet. |

I've been waking up at silly o'clock for months
A number of things are stressing me out and no matter what I attempt, I can't rid myself of the insomnia and my mind racing at 3/4am
Perhaps I've just turned into a grumpy old bastard who hates himself for being old and grumpy |

Waking up at 3 am is a thing. It's particularly prevalent if your diabetic ( just been diagnosed) but non the less it's a scientific fact . Just can't remember why lol. Google it though it makes for an interesting read. |

"Do you drink caffeine in the evening.
Are you worried about something.
Do you wake up to pee.
Are you going to bed too early.
"
Yes Nanna, but please don't tell me off. Be gentle .

Had an appointment today and they cancelled it when I got there because something wasn't up to date. I woke up from my nap to get to that appointment too . Life has it in for me right now.
