Sitting in the staff room at work listening to Princes greatest hits. So many great anthems. A truly unique preformer and incredible song writer. "Sign o the times" is about 35 years old and still relevant today. Whats your favourite track. Come share the Prince love x |

"Saw Prince during his run at the O2, hands down the best gig I've ever seen"
Wow, bet it was great!
I was never fortunate to see him. Would have been amazing in the early 80s. |

"I love Raspberry Beret. "
One of my favourites. I recently had to throw away my actual raspberry beret due to moth damage but reminded me of the song every time I wore it. |

"My stepdad had the purple rain movie on vcr and I use to watch it a lot when I was a kid when doves cry is probably my favourite song "
It's a great song. Very sultry and quite dark too. |

"Watch YouTube “while my guitar gently weeps” Prince is a great talent and he shows why he should be considered in the greatest guitarist’s ever "
I'll be googling this. An awesome song in its own right. Interested to hear Princes interpretation |

"I liked his music until I saw the video for Kiss. Then I loved it. The androgyny was beautiful. "
Very iconic style. I do have a thing for a man in black lace.

I saw Prince 4 or 5 times from The Sign of the Times tour onwards, the last time was during the O2 run.
Watch the Montreux 2009 late show on YouTube (the full show is the 1hr 37mins one).
No dancers/backing vocalists, no dancing from Prince (I think his hips were fucked by then).
Just a shit hot band and Prince playing amazing guitar all night.
Billy Cobham covers, Elvis covers, reinterpretations of his own songs and a fantastic version of Purple Rain to finish with.

"I never really liked his music when he was alive. I’ve been revisiting it lately and feel I truly missed out"
I think a lot of people didn't "get it" at the time. He was this unusual petit man in purple singing very sexualised song and pretty much had a genre of his own. I'm glad you finally found him x thanks for sharing |

An amazing showman but just as good stripped back to basics. Thanks for sharing. What was your fav performance BTW? |

Hi, sorry I've just seen this post.
My favourite performance was The Sign O the Times tour, probably his absolute peak, but they were all good |

The best performer hands down I have ever seen and I've seen a lot,saw him on Lovesexy tour on the round stage, and twice after. So hard to choose 1 album let alone track. So many many completely great tracks, if someone had a gun to my head and I had to choose 1, today it would be the long version of Computer Blue but tomorrow it may be Beautiful Ones or Pop Life or sometimes it snows in April. He was god tier talent.
That said the super deluxe Diamonds and Pearls is out this Friday |

The mould was definitely broken after he was cast. |

"The Beautiful Ones is my fave, closely followed by Darling Nikki "
I thought Nikki would come up a lot more than it has. Very sex song. It always makes it onto the "songs to have sex to" posts |
