Saving free will is important.

I was watching richard vobes video about it, it was interesting, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cJWccVnj-8
He was talking about the importance of saving the free will and that it was under threat by the elite.
He gave many examples of it like how the ones we are taking into power is making things harder for us and that it is now more than ever important to save it.
He was reading a book in the end which was interesting and did you know that by not saying anything you are giving consent?
I also liked some of the comments where it said "Freedom isnt free, it has to be fought for!", that is so true.
You can say that the take home message here is to learn to say no.
What is your view of how important the free will is and is it under threat from dark forces?  |

Yes, more do get arrested for that, if the establishment dont agree with those things and good point with the essential liberty too, one shouldnt give it up, it is important to have  |

Societal norms change with trends and time. Things that one can’t say now were perfectly acceptable 30-40yrs ago. Whether they were right or appropriate is a matter of opinion, and we each have our own.

This past year there’s been a new act brought into law that many organisations are saying is an attack on our right to protest (The Government’s Police, Crime, Sentencing & Courts (“Policing”) Act came into effect in April 2022 with amendments in June 2023.)

Freedom isn't free it costs folks like you and me.
Tacit consent is prevalent in our society. The concept that we are governed by consent and that authority is not a right, but a privilege is becoming increasingly lost.
I lean towards Chomsky's critique that this has been achieved by replacing liberty with choice. We have many choices, but what is acceptable is increasingly framed for us within a hierarchical distribution of power.
And as Huxley said politics will increasingly become more akin to toothpaste commercials. Show business and popularity contests. We are apathetic because it doesn't really matter who we vote for, it leads to very little effective change.
So we moan about it on forums etc. Well we don't even do that very often. We moan about other issues usually this one is something of a lost cause now?
Unless we are willing to exert enough free will to revolt? But that's been a bit of a disaster historically and well there's so many bright lights, pretty pictures and variety in the online circus isn't there?  |

I don’t get it who are these elite dark forces?
I just do whatever I like and make up the rules , I mean if you have a UK passport you have vast freedoms most people in the world could never imagine. |

While turning up to protests a royal event isn’t exactly going to change the world, the fact people were arrested for it point towards a large problem that our rights are slowly being stripped and it comments like yours that make light of it that allow these small steps to happen |

You wouldn’t people turning up spoiling your special event would you ? There’s much more effective ways to change the world. Those people were just attention seekers
I think Brexit and COViD pretty much proved the problem is the people not the leaders. Bad leadership in a democracy is down to bad followship.
