Biphobic women?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Aberdeen

About 7/10 'straight' guys who message us end up confessing that they're "actually bi, but having bi on your profile limits how many women will talk to you."

Question being, is biphobia really that rampant amongst women? Especially when you consider that about 70% of the women on here seem to be bi themselves.

Or are these guys just chancers, Trying it on to get a foot in the door?

If they're actually being honest and it really is that prevalent, why would you want to be with someone who dislikes a part of who you are? That's sad.

Absolutely

Plenty of women and couples, usually older, that find being bi is off putting

I dunno if it’s a phobia though, more a misunderstanding? Not sure.

Everyone’s entitled to their preferences

It can be a little off-putting when bi guys put up statuses about looking for cock etc... a lot seem more interested in that than women, so it kind of makes me feel like a second choice or a bit inadequate.

As someone said on this same question last week. Is it really phobia or just a preference?

Out of interest, why not? Assuming you found the man attractive and had chemistry, what would put you off?

I don't mind bi men and my other half can be orally bi ,with the right couple.

I've seen a fair few profiles say no bi men ,so yes it does happen .

Bi women are encouraged and it's expected that women on fab are bi,but that's because two women playing is many man's fantasy.

So yes men hide being bi,so they don't lose meets.

Lol. It's the literal definition...

'Biphobia is aversion toward bisexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being bisexual.'

You have every right to choose who to have sex with, but by literally ruling out *every* bi man, based on their bisexuality, is biphobic.

Dunno. I am straight, in the DMs and on my profile. But I heard this before from women and read it on profiles often.

I met a woman from fab once, who set her profile to trans and said she's "non-binary". It was a nice meet, only once though. Anyway. It's in my summary. Some months later I am texting with someone else from fabs, and she asks very, very weird questions about my sexuality the whole time and then mentions the summary and was really relieved that I wasn't bisexual.

That's as far as my experience goes. So yeah, I think I understand the issue with this and why bisexual men might not want to mention it in their profile.

A former boss of mine pulled me into the centre of a sales floor. In front of over 70 colleagues he told me that as “a gay” I “should be gassed”.

A friend arranged a meet which turned out to be a gay bashing gang ambush, he escaped with injuries to his body and face.

I was spat on in the street for being a “fucking queer”. I needed a tetanus shot.

That’s homophobia.

A straight man not wanting to fuck me is not homophobia.

Freedom of choice and personal preference. Does anyone remember those.

If a bi/bi-curious male is rejected they don't like to think that the reason for rejection is due to them. They'd rather just form a false opinion of the other party being sexist. It's the same for women I'm sure.

Don't agree here. If a woman rejects a man for being bisexual, then that's discrimination.

You can't just disguise everything as "personal preference". A racist doesn't just have a preference against black people. They are being racist.

And if you, as a woman, don't like people based on their sexual orientation, then that's discriminating.

Please google "homo prefix meaning in english" or something like that. Homo means man "homo-" means "same-". It's how the language works. Bi- means two of something, too. Bisexual = two sexualities (homo and hetero = 2). Bipolar means two poles (as in moods as bipolar people have only very hot or very cold personalities).

Biplane = Plane with two wings (planes)

And homo- means "same".

As in homosexual (same sex), or homophone (two words with the same pronunciation but different meaning)

For some women they don't like the idea of a penis that goes up an anal holes going into their vaginal hole

Just like some men don't like the idea of putting their tongue on a vagina where penises have been.

It's a frame of mind which should be a person's choice if they want to accept that or not as long as they make things fair for others they have sexual encounters with I honestly don't see the issue

"Freedom of choice and personal preference.

I'm fine with discriminating against people I don't want to fuck. Even if they call me biphobic homophobic racist ageist sizeist I still won't fuck them. "

That is a ridiculous claim. No woman, unless virgin, has pussies that never were penetrated by other peoples dicks.

And many guys fuck women anal, too. But you don't hear them complain about that then. Besides, what about bisexual men who take it up the arse? Wht about their cocks?

You have every right to choose who to have sex with, but by literally ruling out *every* bi man, based on their bisexuality, is biphobic.

So if someone doesnt want to have sex with gay men, are they homophobic then?

Biphobia isn't a real thing. What's wrong with using term homophobia?

It is a real thing and like yourself I never heard of this time before until now

Homophobia is basically hate towards gay, trans, bi, lesbian, queer hence the abbreviation LGBTQ and the movement that has a yearly celebration parade in London

Biphobia is as valid a term as homophobia or transphobia.

Homophobia does NOT (technically) involve trans or bisexual. Homo means "same"

It is 2 different terms as you earlier said what was being implied.

Homo means offensive and it's a latin word for man/human

Yes and no. Homo does mean "man", but as a prefix it means "same". Like bi means two

Homo does not mean same it means offensive we don't get to put our own definition on terms that's explained what the definition means

As in homosexual (same sex), or homophone (two words with the same pronunciation but different meaning)"

That's it's prefix but the word homo is referred to as a derogatory term.

Homophobia and homosexual has two different meanings not one.

Same sex and then being discriminated against and if a person doesn't want to have sex with a gay or bi they are not discriminating it's what they are not naturally attracted to.

The problem would be if they could not engage with that person outside of a sexual encounter

Phobias and preferences are distinct concepts. It's acceptable for individuals to choose their sexual partners as long as they don't discriminate based on sexual orientation. Interestingly, I've rarely encountered men refusing to engage with bisexual women, but I've seen many women expressing reluctance toward bisexual men. Perhaps, if men had as many choices as women do, similar trends might emerge, though I'm not entirely certain. I'm not an expert on psychology, but it seems that sexuality has been predominantly shaped by the preferences of heterosexual men. These perceptions and ideas often operate unconsciously, influenced by societal messages that can affect us without our awareness. Consequently, straight women might perceive bisexual men as primarily gay and prone to leave them for another man, while straight men might view bisexual women as primarily straight but with an added allure for their fantasies.Hopefully, we will progress toward a society where men and women are seen as equals, and one's sexual orientation is no longer a source of concern or a threat to masculinity. In such a society, biases like these may eventually diminish. But for now we are far from there.

What utter pish.. phobic indicates a fear. If a straight man won't fuck a gay man it's because he doesn't want to fuck a gay man not because he's scared of gay men. Call it whatever label you want, it means fuck all. It's called personal preferences. All this modernist phobia shite labels the media are shoving down your throat .. ignore it all. Ah. We all have ‘preferences’. My preference is not to go to bed with some god awful woman who is obsessed with the bloke or TV that I may have played with before them. Perhaps the fragile ego men are accused of affect many women too?

I also prefer not to play with couples where the straight male seems to think that I can’t control myself and will want to start humping him like a demented Jack Russell.

Some views are bigoted, you got that partially right.

You are not innocent here, you discriminate against bisexual men. The man doesn't change at all for you whether he is bisexul or straight. When he's with you, he's with you and does all the things he would with you either way.

The person doesn't change because of their sexual orientation, yet you discriminate against them. No one can force you to change your bigoted ways, but that doesn't mean you're not bigoted.

If you are discriminating against bisexual men, at least admit the bigotry of it. (but obviously you are being a narcissist about it, you do nothing wrong and every single value and opinion of yours is perfect, eh?).

There's men that probably won't want a virgin and if they do and still ain't the type to participate in oral sex, a virgin isn't gonna change that.

"Phobias and preferences are distinct concepts. "

Err no.

I think you’ll find what’s acceptable is that people can choose who they fuck for whatever reason they see fit.

Calling them phobics is coercive behaviour.

"Some views are bigoted, you got that partially right.

(but obviously you are being a narcissist about it, you do nothing wrong and every single value and opinion of yours is perfect, eh?)."

... One of my partners is a bisexual man buddy. Try again. I don't give a single solitary turd about someone's sexuality as long as we're compatible.

My point was just that not fucking someone you're not attracted to is okay. Actively encouraged, in fact, as far as I'm concerned. If I disagree strongly with someone's morals, I won't want to fuck them. Hence the me saying I have every right to not fuck bigots.

It's the weird shouty rants and abuse that aren't okay. A simple polite rejection is fine.

"Yes, I think some women are biphobic. I can't see how it's a preference if regardless of anything else you won't go near a bisexual man. It's been discussed many times here.

That is a ridiculous claim. No woman, unless virgin, has pussies that never were penetrated by other peoples dicks.

And many guys fuck women anal, too. But you don't hear them complain about that then. Besides, what about bisexual men who take it up the arse? Wht about their cocks?

Some people have some very unfortunate views about bisexual men, but as long as they're up front and polite about it, they can choose not to have sex with someone they're not attracted to for whatever reason.

Personally I would choose not to have sex with people who held those views, but those who do are likely incompatible with me on a great many levels already.

There's men that probably won't want a virgin and if they do and still ain't the type to participate in oral sex, a virgin isn't gonna change that.

Yeah, well, my comprehension skills are on point. You are the one who forgets what she wrote..... Also men not licking pussy hs nothing to do with other penises. And no, virgin is not going ot change that. But I wasn't making a claim, I was just showing you that you are talking bull.

In which case who someone chooses to fuck or nor has no bearing, surely?

Are you saying that there are no gay Tories or other such nonsense? Sexuality has no bearing on morality and equally the reverse. This is another misandrist dog whistle.

Da hell. Are you really trying to justify biphobes?

Do you really not understand the difference?

Not all preferences are okay to have. Like some men have preferences for big tits, others like bushy pussy and those are totally okay to have. Other men have a preference for children, and that is a preference that is not okay. Do you see where I am going with this? Not every preference is okay to have.

A preference against bigots is okay, a preference against bisexual men is not.

Acting on a preference for something like that is obviously wrong. Acting on a preference against something is perfectly okay. Minor attracted people or whatever they call themselves these days can choose not to fuck adults as they're outside their preferences, and that part is okay.

Do I think people who don't want to fuck bisexual men are good people? No. But if they don't want to fuck someone for whatever reason, that's their right and they're allowed to not have sex with them.

Kicking off about it gains nothing.

"About 7/10 'straight' guys who message us end up confessing that they're "actually bi, but having bi on your profile limits how many women will talk to you."

That's sad. "

Tbh I couldn’t say if it’s rampant or not but I have seen it’s still pretty niche with a fair few couples or woman that won’t meet bi guys regardless of whether F is bi or not. It’s does seem to be something that goes against you and I think still a bit misunderstood so being open and honest about being bi as a M isn’t an easy step to take. However I think you hit the nail on the head, why try to impress or get to know someone that wouldn’t like the real you xx

Not sure if 70% of women on fab are bi, or to what degree biphobia is a thing here (it's a definitely a thing though).

What I will say is that sexuality can be a fluid thing for a lot of people.

Bisexuality as a term is used a lot, but I don't think it's one that will last the ages as it's just too polar. Many people prefer Pan for example. Science seems to be broadening the spectrum and moving away from it to me.

People can be bi for phase in their lives, bi by choice at any one time, be bi circumstantially, be bi implicitly - as in heterosexual or homosexual (I quite like the example of Meghan M sometimes calling herself white as well as the more-accepted black as her mixed race prerogative!) rather than heterosexual AND homosexual. Why do you have to be both together?

Bisexuality itself can come and completely go. Some people get it in phases. Some experiment, some are in two minds. It all happens with this most awkward of labels I'm afraid.

I like to say that being bi doesn't make you more likely to cheat - I think people have plenty of choice if they are actually the cheating type. But do you know what? Some bisexual people will find it a reason to be 'true to themselves' and cheat. Go over to Fabguys and watch married men almost initiate each other with sympathy over it. And though I myself can easily lose my own bisexuality in a relationship (as I can any lust for others), some people can find it a real challenge to deny the pure sexual rush of male sex especially.

The truth is, to varying degrees it all goes.

Why be biphobic?

If nothing connects to the above, I guess bisexuality has been seen as culturally 'weak' in the past.

There was a terrible time around the 70's where bisexual people could be cast out of gay circles for not being 'honest' gays, and straight life for being too gay. Many felt they had nowhere to go and the suicide rates for homosexuality were high enough as it was. Despite becoming such a favoured term in print, various groups of people have always been uncomfortable with it for one reason or another it seems to me. As I say, I don't personally think the term will last forever.

It's not a phobia

Out of interest, why not? Assuming you found the man attractive and had chemistry, what would put you off?"

Exactly.

Plus, if it was not on the profile then you would not know if you had sex with a bi man or not really.

As it appears from the OP, lots ae secretive about it!

"Yes, I think some women are biphobic. I can't see how it's a preference if regardless of anything else you won't go near a bisexual man. It's been discussed many times here.

That is a ridiculous claim. No woman, unless virgin, has pussies that never were penetrated by other peoples dicks.

And many guys fuck women anal, too. But you don't hear them complain about that then. Besides, what about bisexual men who take it up the arse? Wht about their cocks?

It's not a claim it's happened I have seen a person say and secondly I did not say a woman's vagina hasn't been penetrated by penises

Oral sex is not what every man will do and that is not saying a woman has to be a virgin.

May as well have said it is complete bullshit and irrelevant.

I'd say it's a preference that some bi males choose to represent themselves as straight tbh. Not all bi men are comfortable with ousting themselves, some may never do so. It's not on anyone else to decide when they should do.

Is it really anyone else's business? I don't know.

For the women though, it may seem like 70% are bi women. It's bet it being lower, far too many bi "for the lads" women which is a shame

The Town by The Cross

A Phobia is a FEAR not a hate.

Women who don't want sex with a p'bi' male neither hate nor fear them. It will be different for each person that doesn't want sex with a 'bi' male but I am sure that the reason is very much tied into their own sexual thoughts, desires and behaviours.

It is far more psychological than it is physical. e.g if a man didn't reveal he was bi then the woman that fancied him would know no better and have sex with him.

I do not knowingly have sex with bi males but in the event of it happening it doesn't freak me out.

A phobia is a fear.

If someone doesn’t want to meet bi men, surely that is a personal preference rather than a fear?

If someone said they want to meet tall men, does that mean they are afraid of small men?

The “phobia” term is massively overused

Question being, is biphobia really that rampant amongst women? Especially when you consider that about 70% of the women on here seem to be bi themselves.

Or are these guys just chancers, Trying it on to get a foot in the door?

If they're actually being honest and it really is that prevalent, why would you want to be with someone who dislikes a part of who you are? That's sad. "

It’s not a ‘phobia’ to just not like the idea of something. I doubt very much that women are actually sh17 scared of someone because the like a wee bit boabie play. Really wish folk would stop adding phobia to everything that disagrees with a view.

It’s not a ‘phobia’ to just not like the idea of something. I doubt very much that women are actually sh17 scared of someone because the like a wee bit boabie play. Really wish folk would stop adding phobia to everything that disagrees with a view. "

Completely agree re the use of the term “phobia”. It seems to have lost its real meaning.

Def: “ an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something”.

Someone saying they prefer tall men doesn’t mean they have an extreme irrational fear of or aversion to short men.

"A former boss of mine pulled me into the centre of a sales floor.

I'm not sure anyone suggested that.

"A Phobia is a FEAR not a hate.

"About 7/10 'straight' guys who message us end up confessing that they're "actually bi, but having bi on your profile limits how many women will talk to you."

Question being, is biphobia really that rampant amongst women? Especially when you consider that about 70% of the women on here seem to be bi themselves.

Or are these guys just chancers, Trying it on to get a foot in the door?

"Yeah can we stop with the phobic stuff

At this rate a straight person is gonna be homophobic, biphobic and transphobic just for existing

It’s just a preference "

It's not a preference, it's something else because being bi has no outward signs, the woman is not being asked to do anything that is about that man's bi-ness. I would reserve the term phobia for the most obvious and terrible things that come from fear. It really makes no difference to me but the blanket no bi-men rule doesn't sit well with the professed superior tik tok attitudes of some of the women who police this forum.

As someone said previously why would you care about someone who has no interest in that part of you. To me it would be a waste of time and energy.

Let people make their own choices. My body my choice who I sleep with. No one is ever going to change that or make me feel wrong for my preferences. Instead of all this rubbish that’s being thrown out as to why a women or couple won’t sleep with a bi man find the plenty on here that will.

"Sorry then, but you absolutely sounded different before, as if you said "I am not attracted to bisexual men, so it's okay to not fuck them based solely on that."

So glad you are not saying that.

If I strongly disagree with someone's morality, I don't have to fuck them.

I just don't understand what this has to do with bisexual men? No one wants to fuck bigots, so that is sort of given. Hence the misunderstanding earlier.

But why don't you want to fuck bigots?

Is that not then bigotist?"

Bigotphobic

Let’s be honest though ladies

You don’t like sleeping with bi guys? Sure, your choice

But you have, you just don’t know it because the lads are crafty

Plenty of “straight” guys, boyfriends and husbands out there, I know all about them

These type of comments make me laugh.

So bisexual men are untrustworthy individuals who will lie about who they fuck and even cheat on their female partners with other men.

That's so attractive!!

Men are. People lie. We all lie

It’s a hard lie to catch being my point

I don’t think a woman that likes tall guys has ever accidentally slept with a short guy and not realised

We know how crafty guys are trust me, we know I actually used to swing with a bi guy on here back in the day - liked him, certainly didn’t like his duplicitous ways which seemed to be inherent in his type hence my current preference

Norwich

So just to get this clear:

Some men lie about being straight so they don't put anyone off.

Some men lie about being bi to get access to the women in couples.

It's a fucking minefield

Wow! So we’re just here to screw anything? What about women who are bi or is it only men who you see that lack morals?

Here’s a a shocker for you. There are many of either sex that I wouldn’t sleep with, because I don’t fancy them.

Yeah, as a bi man, your holes would be of zero interest to me.

On two occasions, bi guys who said they could play straight showed that they couldn't, my experiences with much younger guys have been disappointing and I dont enjoy kissing men with beards so I avoid these situations. Does this make me phobic if I choose to avoid these types of men...no...it means I will choose men and situations that I enjoy.

Racist - But theirs nothing wrong with being racist.

In a free & tolerant society, we have to live with people that share opposing points of view.

SEXUALITY IS NOT A POINT OF VIEW.

Hell, theirs lots of women who wouldn’t wanna sleep with my black ass. But I don’t hold it against them.

I personally won’t take anything below an Ecup

Depends really. Could be racism, could be a valid concern for their own feelings. We wouldn’t know without knowing the person
