Butter pie but its quite high in calories
Other then that make a coleslaw with lowfat mayo.
Boiled and caramelised with some salt n pepper lil bit of butter lovely on sandwiches with any meat. |

Well onions do last quite along while, not sure what quantity your talking about. I know you said not soup but french onion soup is yummy, you caan also do them in the microwave whole with the skins on and when they come out they taste delicious. I tend to naturally get through a lot of onions as i put them in everythingi cook. |

Oooh just remembered I have a recipe for baked onion bhajis! I do like onion soup but again, if I make lots some will go to waste.
I usually use them in everything but as I am cutting down the calories I am not making the stews and sauces I usually do. |

Mae a large batch of soup and freeze it in portions |

"Make a batch of onion stock and freeze in ice cube trays and when you need to add a bit of flavour you can put a few into what you are cooking..."

You could make pretty much anything with them, a ragu, soup, french style chicken, meatballs...I could go on, but not sure if you want to use the onions only and not have the other ingredients to hand lol |

Slice very thinly and dry fry them slowly in a frying pan until most of the water has evaporated, then add a drizzle of oil to the pan and continue to fry until crispy.
Delicious with a juicy steak or to serve with soup.

Onion, celeriac, butter (but you could use a drizzle of olive oil), black pepper and nutmeg. A layer of celeriac, a layer of onion, season each layer and then shove it in the oven for half an hour or until the celeriac is cooked through. |

Onion jam/chutney:
Slice the onion and sauté with some chopped garlic until they start to go brown.
Add a dash of orange or orange and mango juice and continue to cook gently.
Add the juice of a lime and add some sugar to achieve the right sweet and sour balance.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Lovely with steak, pork, and duck etc...
