I just saw the trailer, and it looks amazing!

Jason Statham seems to have found a winning formula in recent films (including the excellent Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre) - the badass action guy with deadpan humour.
Are you a fan of Statham or this particular genre of movies too? What are some of your favourites? |

"I loved Lock Stock but I'm not a fan of action movies. I find them a bit silly, and that's what I think he tends to be in. "
He's an action star, after all! Why do you find them silly? For being unrealistic?
I'm happy to suspend disbelief in the case of media, so it doesn't bother me. |

"Not a fan. He seems to play the same character/acts the same in every movie I’ve seen him in. Although I did enjoy Hobbs and Shaw. "
Hobbs and Shaw was great, wasn't it? He had great chemistry with Dwayne Johnson.
I guess I'm agreeing with your conclusion in the post, although I like him for that reason - it's a dependable trait - I know I'll like his character |

Yes, it's the lack of reality but also that they are quite samey. Fist fights, car crashes, shoot-outs, people jumping from one vehicle to another. It just bores me, especially when it's so implausible.
I can suspend reality in some cases but I don't like serious things to look ridiculous, and most action movies are absurd. I find things that are like real life more relatable and interesting.
