I did this, but with 3 kids between 3 and 7 
It was fun but exhausting!
I am not sure that I have the energy any more, even without kids around  
I used to want to feel more “nice and normal”. Nowadays I am happy being my own weird self and I am for the most part nice because of it. |

Can confirm re the allotment, could not comment on the orgies (but think I'd be as disappointed with the reality as i am with looking back at the years I had an allotment - besides I was young back then in the earl 90s, and now I would probably prefer a comfy armchair, a cold beer, my bedroom slippers and the rugby on the TV than an orgy). |

To get to the highest possible position in my career that earns th most money. Now I realise that the higher I go, the less I'd end up actually doing what I'm doing now and it would all be meetings and nonsense, so now I have a specific role in mind to achieve and that's it.
Also used to want to do the whole go to Uni, get a good job, get married, have kids, live happily ever after etc. but just can't be bothered with it now. |

A few years ago I heard about imagining multiple futures. Where you imagine lots of futures where you are happy with and without the thing(s) and unhappy with and without the thing(s) you are contemplating.
It helped me realise what I wanted but understand that there were futures where the thing never happens and I am still happy and futures that the thing does happen and I am not happy. It released me a little from the fear of pursuing what I wanted because both outcomes had possibilities of happiness.

1985 Tracy Chapman (not seen her for a while so who knows)

1997 Natalie Imbruglia (not seen her for years so who knows)
1998 Dido (ditto)
2001 Kylie Minogue (definitely still today)
Jackie Abbott (any year!)
My music taste then starts going backwards to the likes of Susan Vega, Joan Baez, and numerous groups with gorgeous female vocalists, such as Fleetwood Mac, 10,000 Maniacs.
