Well other sports have dedicated threads so why not have one for the Cricket World Cup?

We're kicking off with a repeat of the 2019 final when England tied the world cup against New Zealand

Is anyone watching?

A very good start and can see England as early favourites. I can't see India winning it as they seem like a team of individuals and have developed a bit of a ch0ker reputation over the last 10 years not winning an ICC event.

Yes will watch most games. Especially while working on in the background.

Moved my office set up downstairs and I’ll be watching every ball I can.

I can’t help but think it’s time South Africa came to the party - but they’ve got an even bigger chokker reputation than India

I'm watching now. Just wish Joe Root would come out his shell (at this time he has scored 6 from 11) But as I'm typing this he just scored a cheeky 6 off Boult. Come on England

watching whilst working whilst on here - multi tasking as only a man can do. 192-5, looks like the wicket is a bit of a struggle but ROOOOOOOT playing a calm knock. Hopefully still there with 10 to go and he can open his shoulders. I should've been a cricket reporter....

Biggest game if the tournament so far today and India are going really well! Tha Babar wicket really seems to have opened the floodgates.

Not a lot to shout about for England.... however worth reviving the thread for the first ever dismissal in International cricket by the mode of "Timed Out" for Sri Lankas Angelo Matthews

Quiz question of the future!

Quiz question of the future!"

I saw that and feel so bad for him. It's not like he was dawdling about in the changing room. He was out there and his chin strap failed. Poor from Bangladesh there

Or clever. Depending how you look at it. Obv some beef there. Most international cricketers are not in position within two minutes. Even though the 3rd umpire does time each one. It’s all interpretation. The umpire has to decide if it’s taking the piss. They asked the question and umpire agreed. The issue is now will this filter down to the grass roots level of the game?

Frankly being it’s his helmet broken then I agree it’s poor form from them. They should have retracted the appeal when he showed them. He wasn’t doing it on purpose. Funny old game cricket.

Might be a hot take, but that Maxwell knock might be the greatest innings in ODI history. Wow!

Yeah was a fair old knock that, especially on one leg!

I thought the rugby World Cup was long and drawn out before this! Still in the group stage.. they can play more than basically once a week can’t they?

It’s all set up for a King Kohli coronation, but the Aussies are always mentally prepared for finals. Smith hasn’t scored big yet, and today might be the day.

I suspect the opening bursts from Siraj, Bumrah & Shami v Starc and Hazelwood might be the key.

Never thought I’d see the day when I would be delighted to see Australia win the World Cup

I felt the same. I've never ever wanted the Australian cricket team to win anything.
