Do you do it?

Before you answer, I mean the talking kind, not the walking kind.

I'm confident in what I have to say, I'm confident in talking but I'm absolutely terrible at translating what is in my mind in to actual words. My brain needs to process the thoughts in to a coherent phrasing for others. All the while new things are rushing through my mind that I also want to say. In short my brain works much faster than my mouth, or even my brain itself is able to keep up with.

As my brain is doing this, I end up rambling on and going off on tangents.

Sometimes I’ll start a sentence, and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way - Michael Scott

I don't think anyone calls it fucking, K. That's something else.

And I'm always concise

No. I tend to be precise and incisive on what I want to say. Wafling, rambling or going off on tangents is something I don't do.

I sometimes have a habit (maybe bad?) of interrupting someone mid waffle or tangent to urge them on course. Probably influenced by my line of work.

You mean like when I'm talking to my dad. The conversation goes something like this

Me: asks any question

Dad: oh I remember. It was last Tuesday. No! No, it was Monday. I know that because the postman was late

Me: stares out of window

Dad: it might have been Wednesday though because the milk was delivered and Bob next door was telling me they forgot his bread.

Me: slowly sinks down in chair

Dad: it was raining anyway because I had to wear my cagoule and the woman up the road was saying how I looked dry and comfy

Me: but dad! What about the question I asked.

Dad: what question?

I do and I love when I am with people where we can do it together.

Stream of consciousness, where it's like how the fuck did we end up talking about sherbet lemons? Oh we were discussing work and how your boss is a dickhead. And somehow it makes perfect sense.

Then if you are actually rambling you end up in such a bubble neither of you know how you got there.

Went on a date to Alton towers once, went on one ride then we ended up mooching and forgot where we were. Place started closing .

That's the good stuff for me, the unfiltered entanglement bubble. Mutual mooching.

That's the thing I know what I want to say, but because I think in pictures more than words the process of converting them is slower. If I have time to process prior I can blurt out a whole book of excruciating detail without distraction or stumbling

Yes, visual thinking compared to verbal thinking. The majority of the population tends to mix the two.

I definitely lean heavily towards verbal.

Oh yes sometimes. Othertimes I have a whole script ready in my head, really intelligent interesting stuff I want to say and when I come to say it, I stumble over actually getting intelligible words out then just go off on a random tangent with whatever I can get out. I talk fast forget to breathe and can see the person I am talking to glaze over

Yeah, it's something like 30% are visual thinkers, 25% are verbal. The rest use both.

Oh I definitely can ramble. Especially over text where it feels like I've written a damn essay! Mainly because I like to say why I think a certain way while also trying to provide a balanced and nuanced viewpoint which can lead to multiple points being made. Although I do hope that by the end, it's perfectly summed up what my opinion is
