Just finished watching it again.

Read the book a few times.

But I can't remember a film with so many monologues.

Gregory Peck had such presence and gravitas.

Very few actors today who have such umphh.

Read the book about 10 years ago and it was really hard work and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It was like reading an encyclopedia at times.

Gregory Peck certainly did have gravitas. Like many of the B&W era/early Technicolor era (way better than now IMO). Roman Holiday anyone?
