The first thing that you bought as a big treat for yourself with your own wages. Something that maybe you saved for?

Yes, the first big treat I bought myself as a Louis Vuitton bag. I was 23 years old. I used that handbag every single day for over a year. I still have it to this day but it’s well worn.

your wildest dreams,

When I was first working, the summer after leaving 6th form I bought a dress, which was £50. Identical white and black basques and a leather belt from next that I still use on my jeans now

A pair of Levis when I was 14. They were £3:50 which shows how long ago it was.

Modest by comparison

I bought an LP which was a mix up of hits from the 1970s. It cost me £1.99. Loved it!

When I was 16 I asked my dad for some GHD straighteners. He said no as there are other options which are just as good and half the price (there was not. This was 2007). He said if I wanted them I’d have to get them myself so I saved up from my Saturday job.

15 years later and those bad boys are still going

That would have been such a better comment but sadly no. My and my straighteners are still together in harmony. I’ve left them in so many hotel rooms, what I’ve paid for in getting them shipped back to me so many times has cost me more than what I paid for them but I’m keeping them forever out of principle. They were not a waste of money!
