Widow/Widower's Fire, a delicate and sensitive subject but very interesting ..I've only just become aware of it.

Anyone care to share experiences?

- is this only applicable to widows/widowers or to anybody that’s suffers a loss of a close one?

I'd say I'd experienced this after losing friends, grief is a strange emotion and you often just need to feel close to someone.

This. It's not looking to replace that loss of connection but rather needing the closeness you mention.

Never heard that expression.

I think the concept, I have experienced very deeply and still do sometimes.

It is like a pain you just can't self-soothe.

Having now read what it really means,I see that there are dating sites eager to cash in on the syndrome.

it’s obvious we (humans!) are simply seen as consumers by the ‘powers’ that be - every feeling, emotion, taste and thoughts to be manipulated and traded off/cashed in *resigned sigh*

Open to anyone experiencing loss, I'm just curious as to how others cope or are trying to. Sometimes 'strangers' are the easiest to talk to.

If anyone would like to discuss personally without airing their washing, feel free
