How come Ghosts used to hover..now they crawl ?

In older films all ghosts hovered above..

Now they just crawl disjointed on all fours..Why is this ?

It's because the new generation of ghosts have watched ghost busters and therefore know that their best chance at preventing themselves being sucked into the Ghostbusters ghost trap is to grab hold of the carpets.

Also it could just be that ghosts are overweight lazy gits who can't be arsed to float.

The reality is that you can't tell them apart from real people... Not in my experience of them anyway. It's after the 'incident' you go... 'Oh'...
