My body.. From just a couple of years ago to now. I'm carrying a bit of extra weight and it's not really hit me until tonight when I've been looking at older photos. I was toned and healthy not so long ago.
Anyway, nothing I can do about it right this second. A good sleep and I'll create a POA tomorrow.
Not a pity post, but if you want to give me tips of creating good habits I'm all for them.

I (Mart) have lost over 4 stone, as I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
I cut out white processed flour items like bread, pasta etc, and other carb-heavy starchy veg like spuds, and rice.
Obviously cut out anything with sugar in too.
Its hard at first, having to read labels on food to find out the amount of carbs etc, but it does get easier with experience.
Gym time accounts for around 5% of the calories burned in a day, by all means go to the gym or do some form of workout, but only to get healthier/fitter, you will not burn much fat....to loose a pound of fat you'd need to run between 35 and 40 miles.
Weight training can help in the long-run, larger denser muscles burn more calories even when you are sleeping, sitting etc. |

Have a plan, work out what you want to achieve and and how. If you do decide to go to the gym speak to the trainers, they can advise. Get into a routine and make small incremtal changes to diet building up over time.
I go to the gym several times a week, free weights, boxing class, Zumba and swimming. I'm in calories deficit and on a high protein. Also take creatine monohydrate and will bulk. It's working for me so far
Good luck and keep us posted

I'm the last person to give advice on this as I actually hate my body and have never made peace with it.
However what I would say is focus on the parts you do love and remind yourself of them.
Sure there's the gym or you could adjust your diet etc but you glow differently when you're happy springs to mind. So perhaps start with that.
Ps this woman would love a figure like yours! |

Swim regularly; doesn’t have to be at a pricey gym, your local council pool should only be a few quid |

I stopped eating white bread, replaced it with seeded, to avoid any bloating.
And I also stopped eating chocolate at the beginning of this month, no sweet sugary snacks before bed time. After 3 weeks in really not missing it.
If there's something you indulge in, cut back or give it up. |

Healthy balanced diet.
Regular affective exercise.
Find something physically demanding you enjoy.
I go climbing.
Though in my opinion, nothing beats a physically demanding job.
You'll be toned, you'll have strength and endurance that lasts for days... Maybe think of a career change, you could be a scaffolder |

If you are or do notice something you don’t like about your body, find/ think of at least 5 things you do love about your body as having a negative view of your body as it tends to often strip people of their motivation to take proactive steps or take on and stick to better habits. It’s far more likely they’ll spiral and take on more bad habits from the depression it can cause. So I guess in short, one good habit is to make time to love your body/ self a bit more so you have more of a positive outlook on the benefits of other habits and desire to keep them going.
However for what ever or how little it’s worth, I think from your photos you’re an incredibly beautiful woman with a gorgeous figure. However what make you happy and feel better about you is far more important than what anyone else thinks xx |

Oops, good point. Sorry OP.
You don't need a gym, plenty of little exercises you can do on your own - planks (I'm useless at them), squats, steps...
I heard Mr Motivator on the radio yesterday (you are too young, use google), apparently on social media he does free short workouts. He's 70 and looks good with it (irritating as hell, but fit). |

You just have to make a mental decision that you stick to when you're in a strong and motivated place. I lost 5 stone at one point, I've never found that level of motivation again and 4 stone has returned!
I'm semi active and eat good portions of mainly healthy meals, it's just the snacking for me. If it's there and it's sugary, it's going in my face! Even though I know I shouldn't. |

Honestly, it really is as simple as eat less and move more. You will get results if you do that. But as simple as that sounds, you've got to be in the right mindset and committed to the idea. And life can really get in the way sometimes. |

I'm with you, I've gone from a size 8 to 12/14 and need to make some changes but I don't know where to start.
I'm loving my new larger tits but hating the belly, I definitely look a little alien in the mirror, I've cut back on snacks but it bugs me I've zero appetite, eat less but somehow manage to pile on the lbs, I can't blame baby weight either I was back to an 8 after having the little one.
I need to get off my fat arse and maybe exercise a little.

Hi OP,
Having had the opportunity to study your figure I think you look fantastic as you are, an absolute hottie - miss your daily boobs.
If you want to be a little more toned you don't need a gym. There are plenty of exercises you can do at home. Sit ups are a good one set a daily target. Start at 10 a day and add another 10 each week until you reach your target.
Alternatively, do something that adds a skill like dance or a martial art.
And of course a healthy diet. |

Sadly age isn't a lady's friend when it comes to body form. It becomes harder to lose weight and gravity does take over. I've become accepting that I'm never going to get back my youthful trim body I once had. It's been through 2 pregnancies and far too many bottles of wine and pizzas.
I did lose 4 stone a few years ago and I ended up with a saggy bum and tummy, and spaniel ears for boobs. I looked much better with clothes on than off imo.
The way I see it now, I think our bodies do change over time and the only way to be happy is embrace what you have. Help it along the way by eating healthy and exercising but don't beat yourself up if you never get back the body you once had. That ship has sailed for most of us. |

"Why are some people so obsessed with gyms and body image.?"
Because of society, photoshop, and the internet.
I’ve put on a bit of beef do am trying drinking water every time I get snacky instead.
With the benefit of hindsight, it’s easier to maintain than to lose, if that makes sense? Regretting all those extra carbs |

Drink black coffee as soon as possible when you wake up, sets your metabolism off to a good start on a morning.
Cut processed sugar out of your diet, I've lost, one and a half stone since january.
Main thing don't start a diet you can't maintain, the weight always comes back.

Caveating this with - I know I'm still fat. And it's easier to lose the weight when you're morbidly obese as I once was.
There are lots of little things that have worked for me - I'm currently at the smallest size and weight I've been since I was 19.
A big thing for me has not been beating myself up for being fat. Walking a lot. This summer I've spent hours hiking. Scrabbling up slippery rocks. Actually getting outside. Going to the gym and sweating my balls off and not giving a hoot about frizzy hair, flushed cheeks. Sweat.
And eating mindfully. When I'm hungry and sometimes ignoring the hunger, paying attention to what my body wants and needs but not using food as a crutch.
Being happy. Truly happy. The happier I am, the faster the weight is coming off.

Tis fantastic that you have recognised that you need changes, and that you are realistic and positive about it. Many people do not recognise that changes need to be made until much later or something to happens to them. I just hope you are making changes because you want to not what thick other people want.
First rule of any weight loss journey is to get yourself into a caloric deficit meaning you are using more calories than you are consuming. Nutrition is 2/3 while exercise and physical activity (PA) is 1/3 of the journey. Both are still important.
How Achebe this is up to you. However I would recommend reading a healthy diet a good portion size, that leaves you sassiated (full) and provides you with enough energy.
Exercise do what you enjoy, muscle uses more energy to maintain, weight baring exercises are good .cardio (slightly misleading term but let's not go there).can be really good on loosing weight and utilising fat none the news you still need to be in a caloric deficit.
I hope this helps.

Wouldn't suggest sit ups. Better to go with planks and push-ups. Better to vary what you do from day to day too, especially early on when your body's not used to the exercise.
Finding exercise you enjoy doing is good advice though. |

You also need the right frame of mind too. People usually comfort eat when unhappy. I know I sometimes do even though I usually try to have a good diet. "Why are some people so obsessed with gyms and body image.?"
It's not that simple though. People go for all reasons
For me it's my health, I have a heart condition and want to be working towards a healthier lifestyle which means I want to keep my weight down because it's less pressure on my heart
I go to the gym because it helps my mental health, I find I'm more focused at work and I'm less tired. Also I enjoy it....
I don't go out much so again it's a social activity, I am building up a friendship group through Zumba class.
I'm not worried about body image buy if I lose weight and tone up as a by product then great.

I can't offer anything else that likely has already been mentioned.
If you don't have time or motivation for the gym, simpler things can start the process. Intermittent fasting, little to no processed sugar, no alcohol. These little changes all help. Regular, good quality sleep (8h) plays a bigger role than most people realise, especially with metabolism. |

Firstly OP, You do look amazing.
One very first thing is changing eating habits such as eating more often but less, changing certain foods or even cutting them out. It all depends on your life styles.
Pre-planning meals is good as you are not worried about snacking.
Gym can be for some people either scary or expensive... they ca range from £20-£120 a month, depens on your location, which can be expensive.
You can start small work-outs, for example at home... go on youtube, pick one most suitable for you and blast a quick one.
Other way is walking or running or bike, it will take a while to see results but they will be there.
Best advice I have been given weight yourself at start take pictures of you.. then forget it about it for 4-6 weeks and do it again...
It is a small step to take but scariest to do, once you do it. It gets easier.
Notice: I am not qualified to provide proffesional advice but have vast experience in various sports

It happens us all at some point. Find an activity you enjoy walking, cycling, gym etc. if you want to tone and build a bit of muscle do weight training. ( don’t worry you won’t turn into Rambo overnight) more muscle burns more resting calories so the more you have the easier it is to stay lean.
Eat protein at every meal. Eat smaller meals. Cut back on carbohydrates by half. Fill your plate with extra proteins and vegetables.
Supplement: Healthy fats such as udos choice oil. Chlorella, spirulina or Bally grass 2-3 grams a day just before breakfast (this is a superfood). Stick to top quality multivitamin/multimineral. Bit b complex.

"My body..

If youre into reading or fancy an new audiobook, the power of habit is one to look into. I used this to turn my life on its head, it helps you understand the key themes behind habits, how to break negatives and build up the positives.
It's very good. I'll drop this in a message to you, just incase you don't see this. All the best in your adventures. You got this. |
