Well after much thought, I’ve just used a sun bed for the first time.

Mainly because I’m off on a walking holiday to Lanzarote in a few weeks and other than my arms and face, I’m as pale as a polar bear.

The question is, do many blokes use one

I use one a few times a week. Not for mega minutes but only 3 or 4 to keep my psoriasis under control. I also used it to get used to the UV before I went to Turkey earlier this year. It defo helped my skin not get burned.

That’s my plan, hopefully getting enough of a tan to stop myself from being burnt to a crisp

Lots of famous men do. But I don’t have any friends that do.

So by deduction we can conclude that you have no famous men as friends Incidently I think most just use fake tan. Sime notv particularly well either

I started using them a couple of years ago before a March holiday to Venus Star. We are naturist so I'm evenly tanned all around. However coming though the other end of winter my body had not seen much sunlight. So I started going to prep my skin for a naked week in the sun. It worked well and I didn't burn out there.

I'm not a regular user. But I find a few sessions before the naked season useful to prepare my body for the sun. Also on those cold winter days I just pop in to chase the winter blues away. I find it really lifts my mood afterwards.

Still yet to find and use the one in Chameleons though. Maybe that's my challenge for this winter

Suncream also helps with this

Never used one but my skin tans at the slightest hint of sun no matter what factor sun cream I use.

Do sun bed tans protect from actual sun?

I assumed a sun bed tan to just be a cosmetic thing and maybe even bad for the skin.

None

But I did hear Jesse Lingard used a sunbed shop near me when he was at West Ham

Sunbed's 'are' bad for the skin and offer no protection from the sun...the effects of using sunbeds won't show till some times years later, as is the same for actual sun damage.

That's pretty much what I'd assumed.

Central

A few young guys from my gym use them.

I don't think I would, due to the skin damage that they inflict

Never used one. Never will. I'll stay pale and not especially interesting and apply gallons of factor 50 and wear a silly hat.

I don't and won't use a sunbed, had cancer once before. I don't fancy tempting fate.

I must admit the warmth felt good on my body. On a separate note, im hoping to go to a naturist beach whilst over there.

SW Scotland

We both use them, Mrs CT a bit more than me. I’ll go in for maybe four mins every three weeks.

I've used them plenty but if you apply p20 (sun cream/oil) about half an hour before you go in the sun you'll tan nicely no matter what.
