Good foreign horrors?

Since most (90%) of the shite Hollywood calls "horror" I've been looking for some good foreign horrors.

I've seen quite a few (switchblade romance, frontiers, martyrs) but I wanna see more.

Recommendations?

Not sure if these really count as horrors but Battle Royale and Oldboy were really good. I presume you seen them though as they are classics

I love Oldboy.

Try Guillermo Del Toro's films. A mixture of fantasy and horror. I love them. Pan's Labyrinth (definitely more fantasy), The Devil's Backbone (more horror, and quite a freaky little film), and Chronos.

Completely agree with the Del Toro films, I would also recommend The Orphanage.

But that depends upon your definition / expectations from a horror film. Slasher / gore horror stuff? Then the above might not be for you.

And never watched any... but Japanese originals (ring etc. Are supposed to be very good 'scare' movies)

Please do share if you find something good to watch.
