As a “returner” to Fab, and putting my big boy pants on and braving the forums again it is time to talk body positivity.
Whilst no one can tell you how to feel or even to heap praise or dismay on you I am here to tell you a positive story
5 years ago I lost my bladder. I fought and fought to keep it but lost the battle. For many years I hated my urostomy bag, even at moments I can feel woe is me. But it keeps me alive. Now I accept it. Will explain it to others.
For those that stare or have and am sure will continue to reject me because of it, I respect your honesty.
So I am here. It’s not the body I was born with, or once had, but it keeps me alive. Embrace the scars, I call them maps of my life
Let’s embrace what makes us us and we are good enough for someone |

"I've noticed it's not in your profile, I guess it doesn't have to be though. Good luck OP. pt"
A valid point and one I thought about.
I am sure there’s a lot more that’s not on many profiles than there actually is.
I am open about it to people I talk to and may look at meeting and now to others that may read this.
It’s actually quite weird when you tell people something like this they want to “save you” whereas I guess when you have something, anything, you want to be judged as a person not a potential ailment. |

I think that's a fair approach, just be prepared for someone eventually to scold you if you don't tell them soon enough. That will happen sadly, but play it the way you need to for sure. You need a skin on Fab anyway tbh - when try not to let anything get to you here it's so much easier to handle the rhythm of the place.

I recently shared nearly identical words with someone. Embrace the scars, they make you the you that you are.
What a strong message to take away. It’s lovely you’ve done just that for yourself. |
