Never cried watching a movie in my life before.... Until my son was born. The instant I picked him up all kinds of weird paternal hormones flooded my system and for the next few months, every ti.e I watched anything even slightly emotional I would become a wreck and my eyes would start leaking

Lord of the Rings - Return of the King: The moment when all the hobbits drop to one knee at Aragorn’s coronation, he immediately tells them to get up and instead the entire crowd kneels for the hobbits.
Forest Gump - the scene at New Year’s Eve when Forest and Lieutenant Dan are getting it on with the 2 girls and one of them calls Forrest stupid. Lieutenant Dan immediately pushes the other girl off and kicks them both out for calling Forest stupid. |

"Didnt cry at any of them. They are just films and not real."
But they can trigger real emotions in real people with real levels of empathy and sensitivity. Especially those of us on a neurodivergent spectrum. |

I have quite the affinity for Pixar movies and the emotional rollercoasters they take me on. For me it’s Bing Bong… “take her to the moon for me… ok?” |

I was absolutely sobbing by the end of The Whale, and My Sister's Keeper. I still get teary-eyed when Littlefoot's mum dies in The Land Before Time. I usually get emotional when bad things happen to pets in movies, too.

When Boo Radley is walked back to his house by one of the Children he saved. To go back to a life of solitude and public demonisation over rumours of his past behaviour.
Only for the few to really know his compassion, vulnerability and courage.
Both the book and film makes me weep uncontrollably. |

What made me tear up...here we go
1:
Anakin..
Anakin's gone...I am what remains
I am sorry...I'm sorry Anakin, for all of it.
I am not your failure Obi Wan...you didn't kill Anakin Skywalker...I did. The same way I will destroy you.
Then my friend is truly dead...
2.
My god Bones....what have I done.

Fiction rarely makes me cry.
However, a childhood memory from the late '80s comes to mind. There was an old man - Nicholas Winton - who has since been dubbed the "British Schindler" (the ending of which also made me get a little teary).
Winton saved hundreds of Jewish children during the holocaust and mostly kept what he did a secret even after the war. In the 80s his wife discovered a scrapbook in the attic naming the children he had saved and passed it to Elisabeth Maxwell (wife of Robert Maxwell) where it found it's way to the Beeb.
His story was told during two episodes of "That's Life" hosted by Esther Rantzen. In the second follow-up episode Esther asked the audience if there was anyone present who was a child helped by Winton. About 20 people in the seats around him stood up and started applauding. Then Esther asked if there was anyone in the audience who was a child or grandchild of someone Winton had helped.
The entire audience stood up... |

And the scenes in saving private Ryan where a now old private Ryan
Asks if he was a good man to his wife
While stood at the grave of Capt Miller who died helping him
Always get me though |

I saw a Trailer for the film they’re making. If I remember right Anthony Hopkins plays Winton.
Either way I’ll definitely be watching that film he was such a great and compassionate man. |

Artax took his own life.
He didn't get stuck in the swamp, he gave up, depression and sadness overtook him. Which is the whole point of the swamp, surprising how many people overlook or just don't grasp this part (not saying you are one of them), despite the name of the swamp being "Swamp of sadness" and makes the scene all the more heartbreaking. |

I get emotionally invested in everything. Films, television , even music. Bloody exhausting at times.
As an example today I watched the new Blink 182 video. Now this band was the soundtrack to my younger days leading the second wave of pop punk and all that followed. Lots of memories and feels from their back catalogue, so to listen to the lyrics and see the new video was very emotional. Clue… it references Travis’ plane crash, Marks battle with cancer, Tom leaving the band and the video has the background keep changing to some of their iconic videos of yesteryear. Makes you think about your own journey and those you’ve left behind. Not sure I’m doing it justice really but hopefully you get the idea….. |
