Double standards??

I nipped to my local supermarket after the gym the other day wearing the outfit in my profile pics, a polo shirt and Lycra gymshark shorts…

I got some disapproving looks and comments from some and some winks from others.

Yet ladies can go in nipple showing crop tops and camel showing shorts, yet not disapproving comments are made.

Was I right to wear them..

You said profile pic - that one appears to just be some form of jock strap/bondage gear - no wonder there were disapproving looks. Maybe change your profile pic to the one with black T-shirt and lycra shorts (the first pic in your gallery).

PW, remind me which shop you are going to, cos I might just win the lottery without having to buy a ticket

couple, us we him her.

The said shorts was your narnna on show like in the pictures?

Meaning was you walking around with a semi/ hard no pants with a very visible peen?

What others do is entirely down to them but I can guarantee that if a woman was to go out tight shorts with a toe on show tight top etc she would definitely get dirty looks from other women.

But as long as you are going about your business decently then I wouldn't worry about anyone else.

If you was walking around the supermarket with lycra shorts and a large noticeable semi hard penis then that's not on.

As you said like in picture I'm guessing that's what you did??

That's a very visible penis there friend.

That kind of blatant might be alright on a night out or situations where that clothing is appropriate for other reasons, such as at the gym or whatever. But put some actual pants on before you go to the supermarket and have it at eye level for the local children.

I don’t get this thread - if the UNLOS has said he was out in grey joggers and he was packing a show then everyone would be “ohh, ahhh yes please”. If he does the same thing with a different item of clothing and he is burnt at the stake.

For the record I think UNLOS underlying point is valid - there is a difference in judgement between women wearing tight clothes and showing everything and men doing the same.

If the different item of clothing is basically very small underpants, I think the idea of put some damn pants on is perfectly valid and applicable to everyone when it comes to a trip to the local supermarket

Grey joggers show a hint of what's underneath meaning women have to use their imagination.

Those shorts might have well not been there and to a small child would have been at eye level.

How does that differ to a women wearing very tight Lycra?

If someone was to post a thread making comments on what a female was wearing down the shop then the hordes would descend on said OP for being sexist and misogynistic for even daring to judge her.

But she would definitely get the evil eye from many another female whilst out and about.

But I get your point.

To expand on this a trend this year round here certainly has been younger ladies wearing a all in one extremely tight short tank top one piece usually in a skin colour and usually with no underwear.

Not being a pervert impossible to miss someone walking towards you in your eyeline wearing it.

My wife has said on more than one occasion is that really appropriate clothing to wear in Asda.

Particularly as we all keep being told all men are sexual predators.

I jest obviously but in my opinion what some ladies wear today is as offensive as the OP walking around with his peen on display.

Difference if I was to call him out I'd get praised.

If I was to call a lady out I'd get accused of being a sex case!

The op asked if he was right to wear them. Double standards or not, I said having seen the photo, no he wasn't.

He also said no disapproving remarks are made about women wearing revealing stuff. That is not true.

I think that because *some* men enjoy seeing a woman's shape outlined by their clothing they think that everyone thinks it's ok. The double standard exists for them.

Different perspective. A woman might wear the clothes as you describe and people say nothing because of the times we live in. Anyone showing disapproval is a misogynist if you re a MSN or a prue if a woman.

Men are a much easier target or maybe you are more sensitive to it.

However do what you like and wear what you like as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

I saw a young woman wearing a flesh colour skintight all in one shorts thing recently, and did a double take. I initially thought she was naked... not appropriate and nor was what the OP was seemingly wearing.

He also acknowledged himself that some people seemed fine and some people disapproved, while not even considering the same concept might apply to women’s clothing. You can see from this thread that some people would also disapprove of women.

I guess the disparity might come in the volume of disproval, but personally i think there would also be disparity in the ‘ahem’ volume of what is on show. At the end of the day ladies genitals dont protrude to the same extent and therefore will always be less visible

"The op asked if he was right to wear them.

At the end of the day ladies genitals dont protrude to the same extent and therefore will always be less visible"

Yes. I think a woman's genitals would have to be unusually large and the clothing a bit tighter to be as visible as a man's, because of basic differences in anatomy.

Sexism might also play a part - people might be more likely to assume sexual intent when it's a man than a woman.

All I can do is practice what I preach. I'll only go as far as the communal bins in leggings, otherwise I'm wearing something more structured over my genital area.

Haha I didn’t see the pictures but who wears a polo shirt with little Lycra shorts to the gym unless trying to deliberately show the tidder? Surely If a polo can be worn comfortably then so can normal shorts or jogging pants? Then to wear it to the shops begs belief haha

"I nipped to my local supermarket after the gym the other day wearing the outfit in my profile pics, a polo shirt and Lycra gymshark shorts…

I got some disapproving looks and comments from some and some winks from others.

Yet ladies can go in nipple showing crop tops and camel showing shorts, yet not disapproving comments are made.

Was I right to wear them.. "

I never wear a bra and the amount of old ladies that scold me over it is fascinating

What makes you think women can wear what they want and not get comments made about it?

I'd still be a little ooh err if I saw nipplage and camel toes on women.

Who can't help looking at something out of the ordinary.

My motto is don't stare, or don't get caught staring.

I'm out quite a lot with no bra, and have done for decades and the only time anyone said anything was when I was trotting back to dancing from the shop and a youngish man shouted from a car window "Can't you keep them under control" and everyone in the car laughed.

I was skinny back then with barely a handful.

I wouldn't run with a bra on now without holding them down.

"I'm not comfortable with anyone wearing things that accentuate outlines of genitals in public (exception, gym and swimming appropriate clothing).

No, I don't do it myself. No, I don't say anything when others do it.

Neither am I.

I saw a young woman wearing a flesh colour skintight all in one shorts thing recently, and did a double take. I initially thought she was naked... not appropriate and nor was what the OP was seemingly wearing.

Those unitards are hideous on any body. No idea how they became main stream fashion. I see influencers “GRWM for a business meeting” throwing a blazer over them with the delusion its now a smart outfit "

Get ready with me … its a style of social media influencer content where they film clips of them choosing their outfit/ makeup/ accessories for the day

Its as tedious as it sounds but still seems to feature heavily in my feeds because the algorithm wrongly assumes i am young, hip or fashionable aha

Club: absolutely fine to wear something that has your penis on show, even the outline

Asda: absolutely not!

Must have a very vigilant wife to spot his post that quickly!

What planet do you live on OP? Women always get comments: shows too much, not enough, oooh a bit of leg she must be easy. Not only women, teenage girls. It's disgusting.
