When I was young I did a summer job in a distribution warehouse in the school holidays.
A pallet of bubble wrap got delivered and the supervisor told me to unwrap it and pop it in the corner of the packing store.
Took me ages. That's a lot of bubble wrap to pop.

The serious answer is 'popping' - double the 'p' before adding 'ing' - everyone here is taking the p.
And 'popery' could be the best actual word to describe 'pope-ing' (it derives from papal, papist, pope etc).
You rarely need to add an 'e' to things really.

I needed you when I was doing/failing my English language GCSEs (no idea how I passed the literature paper )
