Turn left moment..

Picture the scene...

Last year I had the option of two meets at the same time, one was a "safe" option of someone I knew quite well and the other was with a fairly new guy but oh, he fitted me so well (I mean the other guy did too).

I ummed and ahhed which one to go for and went with the second option, the new guy.

Little did I know I'd end up catching feelings, being in a world of pain at times but I do always wonder if I hadn't of gone in that route what would my life be like now?

I don't dwell on it, it's done but my question to you fabbers, have you ever been faced with a turn left moment and are you glad you took it?

Four years ago. I really, really wish I’d gone right. And other subsequent, related decisions made along the way. But! Can’t turn the clock back now.

Can’t make wrong turns if you don’t know where you’re going.

Everyday we have these moments whether intentional or not.

The film Sliding Doors comes to mind.

Agree, at the end of the day when I am walking the dog I am often talking to myself, scolding myself for idiotic things I have said or done during the day, wondering why I didn't do something differently.

I think in terms of decisions, sometimes they are thrust upon you. I would have liked to have stayed working abroad, but circumstances affecting others meant that was not possible - I may have been less grumpy if I had been able to carry on with things, but equally, it could all have gone pear shaped out there - who knows.

Would love to be able to make right or left turns, but I can't get the damn engine to start.

What a shame that 'right' has always had the unfair benefit of a presumption of correctness.

Oh yes.

I don't wonder about what if things were different or regret anything. Not in that sense. Most of my left turns have been golden ones and I am really glad I made them.

My wife was a left turn. It **wasn't cheating disclaimer** came out of nowhere really. It was so weird I got so nervous before I met her, for the first date. And the woman I was seeing at the time was a left turn too.

Life's what happens whilst you are busy making plans. As they say.

I do find lots of moments in life are very much what would have happened if I done this instead of that. Or who wouldn't you have met or known if a certain thing hadnt happened. For the most part I am pretty ok with the turns life takes, Im not overly sure we have much of a say anyway it all just sort of happens the way it will.

Sliding Doors was the first thing I thought of too when reading this thread!

I believe we take the turns and make the choices that we are meant to. In the same way that people come in and out of our lives as they’re meant to.

.

I've had lots of them in my relatively short life - saying yes to something. Suggesting another. I don't think too much about what could have been because it's not and that way madness lies.

Even the ones that didn't have an as happy ending? I can still think, well I'm glad I took that left turn. I think things can still happen, even if they're not meant to *be*.

Life is made up of those little moments, the people who briefly touch your soul, the ones who linger a bit longer and imprint on it. It all shapes you in to the you you are today. I don't think I'd change it for anything.
