All the great civilisations have collapsed. Aztecs and Romans to name but two. Are we about to collapse too on an industrial scale with climate change, displacement of populations, food shortages and a breakdown of all law and order apart from a few remote tribes

Central

There's not 1 uniform culture in the world today, though most of the largest have impacts on the others. We're certainly going to be going through incredibly pressing times and there will be heightened conflicts, exasperated by global heating, pollution, water and food shortages, in particular.

What and who will collapse? Some democracies aren't especially strong, though autocracies and others may struggle too.

couple, us we him her.

What you are talking about is an individual empire/civilisation falling.

Today we are stronger due to our individuality.

Besides I'm more concerned about the Romulans

I think inequalities could foster great fissures in some of the West

"I think inequalities could foster great fissures in some of the West "

Are you suggesting that the unwashed masses are going to rise up and take over??

God forbid if that happens mob rule will take over.

Mind you we are not far from this now trial by social media guilty before.

Guilty until proven otherwise.

Decadence is upon us Tom.

In honour of the revolution it's half price at the Gap.

This is how it ends: not with a bang, but with a whimper.

There's no point worrying about it you've got to go sometime.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

What is leading you to that impression. World food stocks are at record levels, I mean they must be because I’m having to sell what I produce far too cheap! Seriously contemplating putting all the farm into clover fallow and producing nothing, under the bonkers new scheme the Government will pay me more to do that than I can make growing grain!!

Hadrian built a wall for a reason.. you stay across there on the collapsed side.

We will be fine.

The more we talk about this the more likely it will happen.

hopefully it will happen soon, preferably before winter. Ideally sparing me from Halloween, Guy Fawkes and Christmas, Not forgetting the gloom of the clocks going back and Remembrance Sunday.

The bastards have put my car insurance up by over £200, because they can, and everyone else is trying it on. Only the thought of another summer in the sun keeps me going!
