Best one I ever had was a vibraexciter - very powerful bullet that would buzz whenever I received a text. If memory serves it took 4 x AAA batteries via an external power pack; it packed a hell of a punch.
It ran off GSM and I didn't realise it would react to any mobile within a hundred yards until I was in a delicate situation in work surrounded by pinging BlackBerries.

We have used several but Mrs prefers my hand
