Fascinating things are bath mats are they not?
Veritably, it took me years to comprehend that despite the name, you’re not actually meant to put them in the bath.
I like bath mats.
Do you like bath mats?
How many bath mats do you own?
Please describe your bath mats so we may all be envious and stuff.
I’ve seen a wonderful bath mat that resembles an inflatable lilo. It looks a lovely bath mat.
Do you have any heartwarming personal stories or anecdotes regarding bath mats or perhaps have you ever performed a sexual act upon a bath mat? Please feel free to discuss all things bath mat related in fact

Wouldn't get in a shower with out one. My mum even takes ones away with her on holiday. Would hate to fall over in the shower and need rescuing by strangers whilst completely starkers I'd give them nightmares for life with that sight lol |

I have eleventy billion bath mats and give no hoots as to their colour or fluffiness. As they're reduced to a soggy scrap on my bathroom floor daily thanks to my teens. |

"If one doesn't have a bath, but still has mats, does one have to refer to these as shower mats? #askingforafriend"
Ahhh now this is where things get decidedly complicated and rather confusing; Shower mats are actually designed to be placed in a shower tray so as to minimise the risk of slipping over.
However, if one applies the very same logical principle to a bath mat and places it in one’s bath, it simply becomes soggy.
And it gets even more complex yet still as there are also specially designed shower mats for outside the shower when one steps out
I am rendered somewhat befuddled…. |

Woah! What’s the difference between a mat you step onto after a shower and one you step onto after a bath. I genuinely thought they were all the same. Am I missing out ? |

I’ve just had a quick ganders online to see if there is some difference in description between the two…..and have come back even more discombobulated as it transpires that there are actually both shower and bath mats that can be placed both in and out of showers and baths and yet are still labelled the same (shower and bath mats) I am even more befuddled than ever now |

The plastic non slip ones - we've got one with pictures of ducks on it in the bath. We don't have one in the shower as it's a large walk in shower that's tiled.
The fluffy ones that stop your floor getting soaked - we have two in use at any time. One by the bath, one by the shower. I like them as they stop your feet getting cold on the tiled floor. One has marks from when my husband didn't move it out the way when he was spraying bleach. The other has blue paint on it from when my daughter had it in her room and decided to paint some cardboard.
A truly fascinating subject OP |

"I don’t know about you all, but I like to dry myself off adequately before stepping onto my beloved bath mat for fear of it getting moist and rotting….or something."
This!!! I can't understand why not everyone does that |

I genuinely thought I was alone doing this. I'm usually sufficiently dry before stepping on the bath mat! |

"A truly fascinating subject OP "
I have one notable mention. I went to visit my ex in the USA and he had a foam bath mat. It looked awkward and odd, I didn't like the look of it at all, until I stepped on it. It was INSANE, such a pleasurable sensation! It felt fluffiest of the fluffy even though the fabric on it had no pile (was very soft to the touch tho). I was so taken by it I nearly bought one for home, but then thinking it was a newfangled thing I thought I'd just wait until it hit the UK market. Alas it never happened; foam dish mats yes, bath mats no. |
