Two that I have left on out of curiosity. Mostly, if they are unread after 2 weeks I delete them.

None. Unless I count ones that are an ongoing correspondence then it's a few.

If I do send rare direct message to someone I don't know I'll generally delete the sent message so I'm not bothered about it.

Why worry about stuff you have no control over, I mean you cant force them to look at or reply to the message.

None. I do however mark messages as unread if they’re of interest to me and I haven’t got time to answer there and then.
