Antisocial - Counting sexual partners

I heard a little bit of this on the radio earlier and just thought I'd share it because it might be interesting to some of you.

It's from a program called Antisocial, and this week they talk about the numbers of sexual partners and how this is viewed differently for men and women. The bit I heard towards the end I thought had some good points. I'm going to listen to the whole thing tomorrow.

I've resolved this one in my mind.

Women can be sluts too. Embrace your inner-slut, if you so desire.

As a spokesman for men and therefore humanity, as a whole: you have the full support of the board.

Fuck society, culture is not your friend: it is for other people's convenience.

Women should be shamed for enjoying sex.

I wonder if this is similar to some YouTube videos I've been seeing recently of podcasts. Some man baits a panel of attractive but seriously dumb young women to ponitificate about female body-count and high-value males. Each time I see one I left with a WTF feeling but feeling sure I am being offered some weird insight into the current state of our culture and sexual politics.

I get what you are saying but using the word 'slut' for women indicates your immersion in this culture.

It’ll never be socially acceptable for women to have an equal or higher body count than men

Well granny, I think personally no matter how people argue otherwise, it’s always going to be seen as undesirable to have a woman who has a high number of previous sexual partners. Men are grand, they can sow their oats and it’s put down as a biological instinct, women do the same and they’re seen as going against the biological need to pick a strong healthy mate to father children and provide safety. Obviously these days we don’t need to take as much notice of the biology as we used to but the stigma still exists. In recent years with the resurgence of the incel-esque culture it’s again become a thing for a woman to be seen as a slag or slut for just doing what the men do.

As a consequence I’d not tell my body count to anyone I was going to enter into a relationship with as no matter what we all say, we all judge based on our subconscious biases

Women can have as many partners as they like. Nobody is stopping us. Nor have they the right to.

Men can choose whether they want to date women based on their body count. No one is stopping them. Nor have the right to.

As said above, a lady with a high body count wouldn’t be compatible with a man who held this view, so it’s all good.

My number is my business. It's not up for discussion or debate. End of.

I honestly think the whole thing is quite immature. I'd be put off anyone who wanted to know this information

Which is so ridiculous considering that women will always find it much easier to get a higher body count than men.

That’s good, as that was my point.

People who judge others in this way are usually the ones who don’t matter ow you wouldn’t want to meet anyway.

Fluffy - I haven't quoted you cos well .... the scrolling n shit .. BUT

For me we are conflating two issues ( my take n your take )

I do think it's possible that society will stop judging women based on the number of sexual partners they've had.

(the next bit I have to make clear cos it's easily misunderstood )

I don't believe the age old adages that women don't seek sex and have to be 'coerced' into it.

I never believe the 'cheating' and 'assault' arguments that cite strong sex drive in men as an excuse. It's not even a reason ffs...

I do think that biology plays a huge part in giving women less sexual freedom than men - without too much explanation - monthlies, pregnancies, child-care associated exhaustion - lack of social freedom - lower income - dependency on the bread winner. ( any exceptions i've omitted e.g. the woman returning to work are simply exceptions and don't negate anything i've said )

I'd also cite the female orgasm as a prohibitory factor in women seeking multiple partners in a day / week. Men jizz n tingle pretty quickly if they want. A lot of holding back by men is to satisfy their partner also ..... when a man and a woman are not partnered he can jizz , willy nilly all over the place. It takes knowing the woman, knowing her body and time and patience for her to have a good orgasm. I don't think women will keep putting in that effort for so little return .....

Sex used to be about procreation. It's now a game or a dance.... Sex used to be about having the horn and relieving it. Now so many monogamous people ( women ) are having sex to satisfy males or other needs within themselves as sex is never as good as i) with yourself ii) with a very knowing partner ....... it's more of a social than sex.

I believe men CAN recover and perform more quickly and more often than women ( please don't count the gangbangers that's something else entirely ) and that's the part of biology that I don't think we can fight.

It's all academic in any case because the argument is one of ethics. Society needs to stop moralising based on gender.

Personally I think there's more talk than sex on the forums from any gender.

Haha jizz n tingle is my new favourite phrase

I get what you’re saying, I’d not even considered that depth of biology!

Ethics are only ever time and place based tho arent they? In another 100 years it might be the case that it’s ethically correct for women to do all the sex with whoever they want (biological factors re orgasms notwithstanding) and we might all look unfavourably on any man who did the same

Agreed..... to be honest i'm a bit concerned about where we are going with acknowledging sexual attraction. I really do , to a degree, thinking we are willing ourselves into our own private Gilead. Things tend to get worse before they get better though .. so it had to happen.

Right I am off for a bath cos i'm off out AND I promise not to scare any men on the train. I promise not to do this or this or this in case he does this or his missus does this

I think the societal context is important. Its nurture rather than nature. But that would also seem to negate the argument some swingers have that we are not designed to be monogamous.

Will they now have to accept they are just perverts like the rest of us

I think what we need is sex robots and artificial wombs, then take it from there.

Haven't listened to the podcast but I did a thread last week on body count."

I was interested in what Granny said about returning to Gilead. There has to be a link between harsher judgment of a woman's body count, rise in incel-think and the increasing control over abortion and birth control in the US particularly. They're part of the same view that women are objects, not people.

I quite agree, and this is what is behind the idea of slut shaming.... it a control device society and some men use to try and exert pressure on women not to have as many partners as they can.... I'm for the freedom of everyone making their own choices without external influences

PS Slut is a very complicated word with many different meanings, some positive some negative.... personally I never use it as a negative
