I thought I’d share my experience a couple on here whom I’ve been chatting to

Asked if I was free today

I replied that I was

They responded by saying that they had been let down on 2 occasions by saying that they had booked a room and no one has turned up

My point is that even though I had a video call with them and and decided to pay half of the money I ended up being blocked by them

I know what you’re gonna say that I’m a fool for falling for that

I just want to make y’all aware that there are people here looking to take advantage

I'm sorry you were not scammed unless you paid for the hotel room already. If so that sucks and don't do that again. Only pay your half in their presence. People regularly don't turn up for meets that's just the reality of fab. It's disappointing.

I thought that. Sorry you were treated badly, OP, but not a scam unless you lost money? I hope you didn't!

That they wasted your time is different...and very annoying!

I think I understood that the OP paid half of the cost of a hotel, presumably to the couple who'd approached him?

Report the couple to admin. You can still do it even if they blocked you

Reading through your post OP, I'm struggling to see how this is a scam, other than that you have interpreted what has gone on as such - i.e. your side of the story - and illustrates perfectly why naming and shaming is forbidden.

You're saying you had agreed that you would go halves on the room during a video chat with them, after which they'd blocked you.

Seems to me thet they just made the decision during the video chat that you weren't for them.

That's not a scam and you weren't conned out of any money

It’s pretty much the first rule of chatting with people on line….don’t transfer any money to anyone that you haven’t met in person and know you can trust. Doing a video call doesn’t prove anything other than they’re a real person, it doesn’t mean that you can trust them and it’s safe to send them money.

If you have their names and bank account details there isn’t much you can do with them to get revenge like you say you’re going to try, if that was all you needed to access someone’s account then a lot more people would be having their accounts hacked because we give those details out to a lot of people. Without knowing their date of birth, address, passwords etc there isn’t anything you can do.

You could pass the details onto the police, if you’re the first person to give them the details then they probably won’t be interested but maybe they’ve done it to a lot of people and been reported to the police by a few people so they’re trying to build up a case against them and will welcome more information from you.

Also, phone your bank and tell them what happened, they might refund you the money.

I’ve chatted to a couple on here recently. They seemed nice enough and we seemed to get along.

When it came to arranging something the guy says that his gf has a kink of being pumped out for money.

Would love to meet in a hotel etc, pay for her time.

Not only did they want me to pay for the hotel but also wanted me to pay them £125 per hour for the privilege.

Similar experience about a year ago, even created a thread regarding it. However the photo i got showing the hotel room showed a two pin wall socket and it was supposed to be a few miles away! Funny thing is, when I questioned it, I was told the hotel was brand new

The design of plug sockets is often a giveaway of a fake profile using photos copied from tge web. It's strange what you end up looking for on pics.

I've not been scammed like the OP, but I have been asked to contribute to a hotel room for the occasional lady passing through the area who's only available for half an hour or so. If I'd accepted then I suspect I'd have been one of a chain of visitors to her room.

It's very ambiguous. My first reading tells me he paid half of the money to the couple. My second reading says he agreed to pay half but doesn't mention paying. So for my money either could be right.

e.g. he says he 'decided' to pay. That's a mental and not a physical action. He doesn't say he paid.

He does, a few posts up. He transferred the money to them and was subsequently blocked.

It's the internet. Trust no one until you meet in person and even then be careful. I like to put my bank details on my profile, it just makes everything so much easier.

Sorry you had this OP but hopefully lesson learnt and fortunately it wasn't a lot of money. It's a long shot but I would report via your payment provider as well (eg Paypal). You probably won't get your money back but if enough people report the account will get flagged and perhaps eventually suspended. It may be swinging but what they did was still technically fraud.

Wha?! I once had a couple who 'wanted to make my fantasies come true' When I asked them what that meant, knowing full well, the next message was going to ask me give them money, I just blocked them before they answered. My advice, for what is worth, trust your spider-sense and get out of there as soon as it tingles. You might not always be right but at least you and your money will be safe.

From a users point of view, I personally don't trust anyone that I don't know so certainly wouldn't hand over money to them. If people are going to go halves on a Hotel I would suggest paying them cash when you met up rather than hand over money on the internet.

From a Mods point of view, I appreciate you say they have left but if it happens again keep tight hold of your money and report please so Admin can have a look

A bit harsh, chipping in for room expenses is courtesy, doesn't have to be a sign of desperation. Meeting strangers for sex requires a certain level of trust ..in strangers. A scam's a scam.

If someone here wants money upfront to cover costs. You may as well just book an adult service provider as st least you know your getting what you want

Report the bank details to police and profile name
