Batting for the Other Team

You know how it is when you're with your friends and you get onto a certain subject that you're almost dreading. That's when it finally comes out: they're all Trekkies, and you like Obi-Wan
So which side of the forcefield do you sit on? Do like your lasers three feet long and buzzing, or fired off the starboard-bow?

"Trekkie all my life
The new star wars TV series are slowly leading me to the dark side.
The Expanse is the one though."
The Mandalorian is a particular favourite of mine. I've been meaning to start the Expanse for ages

I enjoyed the reimagined Battlestar Galactica from the 2000's all the way through my blu-ray box (bought instead of Game of Thrones as I prefer scifi at the end of the day). I was really gripped.
I am mainly saying this because there is an internet meme-almost, that it's 'rubbish' after the first couple of seasons.
But my 'camp' if you like, is that I thought it was great all the way through. Loads of great roles for women too, though sadly that was kind-of hidden due to the main poster-protagonist being a super-tall sexy model (but there is a reason for that).

Star Wars for the simple fact that while it can be parodied, it's unique being a sci-fantasy among the overly done Sci-fiction. It's a space opera.
Star Trek (as much as I love it) was far too easy to have it's own parody be just as good as it, surpass it at times.
The Orville and Galaxy Quest show just how generic Star Trek is in its ease to be replicated, despite being the basis for them both.
The Expanse, is it's own beast and damn good.
Firefly worked so well because it was a space western, it didn't go for the pretty surface utopian future of Star Trek, it went for the more Dystopian lived in world. It just wasn't given the chance. |

Tolerate Star Trek, the Abrams films being quite good.
Like Star Wars, but not so much the off shoots, some of which are a bit formulaic in every episode.
Love Altered Carbon style and more defined Sci-fi like Alien franchise, blade runner.
Love original 3 star wars. |

"I shrivel inside each time it is mentioned," Alec Guinness said of Star Wars. I join him in the feeling.
And I thought William Shatner's best role was as T J H**ker. [Fab censors the name of the TV series; they must not be fans.] Although even finer was his appearance on Have I Got News For You. |

I loved the first season of Altered Carbon and tolerated the second. I thought they recycled it too much and missed the opportunity to create a totally new storyline.

Thoughts on the latest Matrix entry? I do miss original Stargate

Me too. And I’ve not seen it yet but fingers crossed it’ll be a good one.
I can’t pick between Star Wars and Star Trek though |

As for Star war's Vs Trek I'd say Trek for the series war's for the film's.
Ahsoka is restoring my faith tho.
Maybe that's because I fancy the arse off the amazing sexy beautiful Rosario Dawson.nom nom nom |
