Reports that Englands top ballet schools are bullying students and children to stay thin or get thinner and some students are getting eating order as a result. Now Tom is no fan of ballet and cannot see the point but each to their own. What's going on here guys? It's all over the news |

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest |
There is a certain body type / shape which is ideal for ballet dancing. I imagine that a very high level, these standards are strictly enforced.
I'm sure this can inevitably lead to issues with some people. |

This has been happening forever Tom.
Ballet dancers have to be slim.
They're told if they lose weight they're out.
It is bullying and some girls become bulimic, but they want to be at the top ballet schools so they stay, and stick to the diet.

When they apply to the top ballet schools they're chosen or rejected on body type.
Any decent ballet teacher wouldn't put forward anyone who wasn't suitable because of their body.
Ballet dancers have to be aesthetically pleasing-and not too tall.

"I've never seen even a plump ballerina. Same thing in gymnastics."
You do get bigger girls doing gymnastics.
They don't have to be slim and slender.
There was a girl acro dancer when my girls danced who was quite big, but really agile and flexible.
