Those who go through mh issues are lucky when they have someone to talk to. But what happens when talking is not enough, whether it's to strangers, friends or professionals.
When all the talking can't change the view you have of yourself and the pointless ness of life. Does it then just become seeking attention or crying wolf if you talk about your demons without acting on them.
And if the time comes where you may want to give in, are you too afraid to speak out as afraid you won't be believed.
When the only way to prove your demons exist is to give in but that's what you are fighting against.
So we talk and bore our friends but better to bore them than to act
Monday morning ramblings from someone who is OK but tired of having to make those type of decisions |

I think the People who are suffering need an outlet regardless of wether someone is properly listening or not..Sometimes it's good just to get the "ramblings" out in the open and in words (either spoken or typed).
You're not alone SB, I had a Major crash last year that meant I wasn't at work for 3 Months, I was lucky then to have a Friend who was there then who supported me.
I even sent messages with things I couldn't say to anyone else to a Close-Friend of Mine who'd passed away recently. It was that thing of forming the words and seeing them there made me realise that We all suffer from time-to-time and in varying degrees.
It's not seeking attention or crying wolf in my eyes, it's having the guts to say those things and getting them in the open and You have my Full Respect for that!
It's always better to talk rather than act on those feelings
Sending a Massive Man hug to You Buddy..
Keep Strong & Keep Rambling |

I know medication is a contentious issue but I personally think they have an important part to play. I believe my mh issues were mostly caused by the menopause. I don't have any deep seated issues I think it's entirely chemical. So for me and for my two daughters medication has worked. It doesn't make life all sunshine and rainbows but it has made me admire to cope with life and I see more joy in the world than I did before. I take a pretty low dose. |

Appreciate it works for some but my gps were worried medication would encourage me to try again to give in to my demons |

Talking does help, not to change your mind, but to open it to other paths, yeah you could take that same old path, but you could also take this one. Maybe you haven't spoken to the right person yet...

Thanks for the replies. As with everything different things work for different people and guess I still have to find what works for me.
I just know it's tiring thinking about the different ways you could end it and then coming up with reasons why they are not practical or why not to do it.
And while it works for many being active and working don't always help as felt this way when was more successful with life. |

Talking is important as isolation is destructive.
But in serious instances you need on going and professional help.
When my girlfriend of nearly 7 years left I was devastated especially as she started another profile on here with a new guy the day after she emailed me to end it!!
It turns out she was a narcissist and had isolated me over the years, without me realising, until she was all I had.
As we got closer she had to distance herself as otherwise she'd have lost the control she so desired. I even asked her to marry me!!
When she left she gaslighted me knowing the isolation would hurt and I wouldn't be able to get in touch with her so she was free to start on her new victim.
I tried to deal with it all but with no friends I had nowhere to turn and had a major breakdown, unfortunately at work in front of colleagues.
Immediate medical intervention and now counseling that is still on going, are helping me understand that it was abuse, from a very selfish and uncaring person, who probably needs help herself, but will never accept it until her world eventually collapses around her too, as it will, as she pushes for more and more control to satisfy her extreme demands and fantasies.
So don't be afraid to ask for help before you hit that breaking point, it's not fun when you're in that position I can tell you. But help is there when you really need it.
Don't be afraid to call the Samaritans either, they have seen it all before and are able to point you in the right direction to help get your life back in order. |
