I'd you have a status that says feel free to message
Would you at least expect for them to actually look at there inbox and open the message even If it's not for them and they delete the message |

"No. Not if the person is unsuitable.
so not even goto the inbox and delete it not just leave it in there unread"
Some people get lots of messages. Takes too long reading and deleting as more keep coming in. |

You can see the first few words of a message without opening it.
You can read a message and then mark it as unread.
If the senders lrifike is if no intetest, the message probably won't get read.
If the recipient has 900 unread messages they are likely to cherry pick just a few and bulk delete the rest |

Nope.
I'd expect them to view the senders profile first and then decide if they like what they see.
If they do that for all messages they can then reply to those they like, or save, and then either individually or bulk delete the rest later.
Simple inbox management.
Nobody is owed a reply or even to have a message read in the first place. |

If you see a status that says feel free to inbox me, I would think they are looking to see who will take the smallest of hints to try and get laid, then keep all the emails unread to see who gets arsey about the messages remaining unread.
It could be being used as a filter... |

No. There are NO rules that should be laid at the door of someone else's mail box.
A rule I would make is ..... people who want to control other people's mail boxes should not be allowed to send messages or look for support via asking leading questions on the forums.
Watch your own mail. Leave other people's mail alone. That's my policy. Once you send mail it's NOT yours anymore. |
