Prefer curvy or slim?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Mainly one for the guys but I know there’s a couple of ladies that like to comment as well…
So fabbers, do you prefer ladies that are slimmer or curvier? I’m not going to define, use your own imagination as to what differentiates. A simple answer will be plenty
For the record, I prefer curvy |

I like a nice hip to waist ratio more than a straight up and down on a purely aesthetic level in general.
But, I've found some straight up and down people very sexy too.
It's more about who they are than how much weight they're carrying. |

They're not mutually exclusive, in fact quite often they go hand in hand.
Did you really mean fat instead of curvy? |

I meant that the distinction isn’t defined and that you should use your own imagination and make a decision |

"Slim women can be curvy"
this.
Curvy always scores in these threads, and I personally think most men and women do really go for nice curves and indeed a nice bit of flesh too.
But being attracted to healthy fat and strong muscle (not necessarily defined muscle) is genetically hotwired into most people I think, though of course many of us can be attracted to a lot more too..
So why is 'curvy' so often used as a euphemism for extra pounds, ie slim *or* curvy? (sorry if I'm expounding euphemisms here!)
Surely a better question would be, do you prefer someone on the larger or slimmer side in terms of body shape?

I don't believe for one second that it's hard wired into us. Rather it's media shoving down our throats that slim is beautiful. If it was hard wired there wouldn't be societies with different views on beauty nor even in our society views changing with the fashion. |

OP who threw it? You? It's at a 4 at the moment but you knew it's gonna get to an 8. Is that why you chose your words carefully...I'm not going to define... so you can run in, throw it and run back out?

To be honest, it's a flipping nightmare with terms on here. If going by different threads, some larger women, don't like the term BBW (hell there are discussions what size that they're supposed to be), others don't like the word large as it's not the opposite of slim, ample what is that size exactly? And this has left out the midsize beauties? The OP was going to annoy somebody regardless of terminology. |

I find men like women who have body confidence more than anything.
I’d say I am ‘fat’ but describe myself here as ‘curvy’ … plenty seem to like it.
Myself I definitely find bigger women more attractive, love a nice round ass and big boobs… I think that’s my type. That usually comes hand in hand with carrying a few extra kilos, but that’s sexy.
I’m not into the Keira Knightley shape… but I can look at her and see that she is beautiful. Just not my type for sexual pleasures. |

Lots of tip toeing around how to word things, on Fab in general.
I will stick with Firm which encapsulates all shapes and sizes but hedges towards fitter.
Shapely is another more neutral term but still pussyfoots around definitions.

That's not really what I said though.
Historically btw, we can look back at some of the various differing fashions over different ages (and cultures) for sure. But is that how everyone felt though, or are they just that - fashions? Or perhaps even sometimes even cultural requirements?
What is regarded by many as genetic - specifically-hereditary or otherwise - (and we are made of DNA of course) is actually a need for muscle in men (not necessarily toned) and healthy body weight in women (I say 'healthy' merely to set aside modern obesity - body fat, even quite a lot of it, can be perfectly healthy in short, but people are known to lard-up on such unhealthy crap these days that no wonder it doesn't settle well).
pt"
To clarify, both a need to see it in others as healthy providers, and a healthy need to have it ourselves. pt

Turning into another slim women bashing post.
Slim women have curves.
Just because you prefer larger ladies doesn't mean you have to put slim women down.
There's preferences and there's body shaming!
Great filter this thread is!

I remember as a child in the 80’s (not sure if adults saw it the same way) that slim women with no butts were the most attractive. Now women get ridiculed if they don’t have much of a booty. Not sure what century but larger women/fat women were deemed as the most attractive by society. Saw recently an African tribe try to make their men as fat as possible. |

I was a teen through the 80's and I remember all types of looks. Including some very wide shoulders sadly. Yes Grace Jones was thin but she did sing Pull up to the bumper baby. Didn't they always show her ass? Booty is cultural globalism in part. And fashion of course - as Jones knew as much as anyone. It's all about fashion. Fa, fa, fa, fashion as Bowie sang. Listen to the industry talk about how manipulative it is and how it is always thinking ahead! It starts with clothing which can fit well on certain bodies but which does not even necessarily sell - it's all about branding and colours though, subliminal stuff.
Is it really all how people *feel* when it comes to partners and the like?
But young people especially can be impressionable I know. Girl's magazines when I was a kid seemed only ever about how they looked, ie to each other. And how to get boys of course (which always seemed a different thing again to me and often talked about eyes, smiles and attention etc).
I don't think women are ridiculed if they don't have much of a booty. If women feel that way though that is totally fucked up. I'd look for different role models in life if I felt like that. Maybe not Andrew Tate. There are a lot of openly manipulative people around these days.
Rather like fascists, I don't think fashion models should really be role models really! ie anything to actually aspire too - they really are just clothes colour and accessory horses! Images that sell us anything really.
I think that when it comes to everyday clothes, we are seeing models more and more in normal people's sizes. Pure competition could have driven that as much as anything else.

They do get ridiculed. It is definitely a thing. I agree with the lady above, society beauty and cultural standards definitely has a big influence on what people deem as attractive. |

It's all about the bum for me. As long as a woman has an ass I want to grab then nothing else matters to me. Maybe boobs though.
Ok boobs or bum.
Though I will add in there has to be an element of flexibility too

But, I've found some straight up and down people very sexy too.

Think this is worded better than I could have. But I'd like to add the following.
I can appreciate most figures as I often feel it's more about the way a woman carries and prevents herself. That's from how they dress to how they act, I prefer a more confident lady. I find that someone who is comfortable in their own skin allows others to warm to them and see that beauty too.
If you want the "locker room" /shallow answer then...
I like curvy bodies that are healthy and fit. Ratio is key. X love a full ass and reasonable boobs xx |
