"Why boats that are moored never sink when a river floods? " Some boats do get dragged under, But in marinas they have floating pontoons with walkways that are hindged to the bank, boats are moored on the gangways so go up and down with the water level, most harbour walls have slip ring moorings like you would see in some locks. Other than that they use a long ancore rope. |

It was a question I had to answer for evie. She thought it was just luck that they never sank, and hadn't thought about the fact they float on water. I just was interested in other responses |
