Range Rover EVOQUE insurance
Jump to: Newest in thread
Anyone recently insured an evoque, we just got our renewal and it gone up to over £1000 from £500 and that’s shipping around as our insurance have said they won’t insure our car this year. Wanting recommendations please |

It’s a range rover thing, as the theft rate of them is so high at the moment as they’re so easy to steal most insurance companies won’t insure them or they charge ridiculously high prices unless you have a gated driveway or brick lockable garage. |

This. We use lease cars - had an Evoque last year and in less than 6 weeks there were 2 attempts at stealing it. We gave it back.

Got a Skoda Kodiaq, had the same issue. Nothing changed, max no claims, no points, £450 extra this year and that was the best I could get. Even though its an Audi/VW underneath it's not on top of the thieves list but still a massive rise. |

Probably due to their ease of theft, coupled with the repair costs if recovered, alongside prevailing claims involving that model of vehicle. It’s not unusual for a vehicle to shift insurance groups during its life. |

When people get short of money they are more likely to make a claim on their insurance. Things disappear, get broken by freak accident and even burn to the ground. I can't imagine why this would be, but it all has to be paid for by the rest of the insured. |

No claims bonus is a scam and has been for years, the concept of car insurance is a government sponsored short and long con; the whole system mercilessly grifts from the general public at large!
No matter what your circumstances, car insurance companies proactively seek to extract the maximum revenue and pay the government their cut; there’s zero incentive to reduce premiums!
The research into renewal timing tells all, leave it too late and your friendly insurance company will fleece you for no other reason than they can!
As for thefts, again, government asleep at the wheel and zero incentive to even attempt a fix. For the Tories to survive they’ll make crime reduction a ‘tent pole’ issue leading into the next election, post receipt of their deserved electoral wipeout, they’ll hang it around the necks of Starmer & Raynor in the early days of opposition!
Remember, who’s paying for the billions handed out during Covid, yep, each and every one of you; the money has to come from somewhere! |

Car insurance in general has gone up, if you a Range Rover or Land Rover, a lot of insurance companies won’t even insure them in London. They are getting taken so easily. I have an Audi S3 and my insurance went up by £200, I looked else where and other were about £2000 to insure, so I stuck with my current insurance company which was no where near the quotes I was getting, Audi S3 high risk. |

Use this as a reason to offload it to some other mug and buy something significantly better. In the 2022 What Car reliability survey list for Family SUVs out of 39 models Evoques came 36th (latest model) and 38th (previous model), with the sister Jag E-Pace in 37th. Just don't replace it with a Peugot 3008 diesel!

Tesco Bank. Just renewed mine after it doubled with another provider.
Tesco gave me same coverage and an increase in mileage for cheaper than I paid last year. Chucked in some free film food offer as well whatever that is. |

These surveys usually don't take into cars specifications. They only seem to take into account number of problems.
Its why Range Rover and high end German cars always get low marks in these surveys.
Its a trade of between getting a high spec car where they are innovating and trying new technology, plus more goodies that can need repairing. Or getting a car with yesterday's technology and less specifications. |

I’m not interested in being a test bed for innovation and technology. I just want a car that works. |

All car insurance is heading that way. I’m changing my car to reduce monthly payments and insurance costs. Love the car I have but can’t justify the cost for it spending more than half its time sat outside the house. Sad times |

Great, stick to Japanese or Korean makes, they usually are more reliable. Toyota still make a parts in metal that others are using plastic for, so usually need less maintenance. |

Absolutely this, most of the cars in Malaysia (and across South Eastern Asia) are Japanese, as mentioned above, Toyota are one of the most reliable and spares are available everywhere! |

That, my friend, is total bs. The models of which you speak are not as pioneering as you may believe.
Mercedes, once the paragon of over engineering, are now built like dogshite. Land Rover products have for decades been built to a very low standard. So low, that you cannot buy warranties for some! And it’s not cutting edge electronics that are necessarily the problem. |

I go back to my original comment. which I have in writing. insurance currently is down to availability of parts everyone regardless of model is seeing insurance increase considerably.

Insurance has generally risen 40% so get on 'go compare', be realistic about mileage as often over estimate, adjust excess if agreeable & as someone said try NFU plus LV & Admiral but be prepared to wait hours if you need to ring Admiral. |

Absolute nonsense. Range/Land Rovers all seem to be built on a Friday afternoon by d*unks.
For other cars it’s usually the emissions cheat devices causing problems. |
