So, if I push in deep, will it hurt her or me?

Serious question.

Because, it looks like I could be hitting a wall if I start getting a little rough.

I've had coils in the past and it was said that it could be felt by the guy....a sharp ish stab feeling when they went deep or at a certain angle.

Haha! Sorry.

But great question, talking from experience it is possible to feel it, but depends entirely on a number of factors. My ex had one, I could feel it if I cervix bashed (not glam I know). When she had it refitted years later they cut the little cord shorter to prevent this. And that worked, but obviously makes it a little tricker to remove. Although we experienced no issues.

But in terms of feeling them, I suppose the factors would be how well endowed you are, sex positions and how long the cord was cut too.

But being honest, it was never painful to feel. But it was obvious I could feel it, never caused us any issues.

Mr.

The strings are not one size fits all. Also during the month, at varying stages of a woman’s cycle, the strings sit at different positions. I’ve had partners say they feel ‘poking’ at times.

If the strings have been left too long, it is possible to always feel them. I’ve had the beef to have strings cut months after placement in the past.

I think we did a thread on this not long ago.

As a guy, fucking a woman with a coil fitted, you can sometimes feel it. Sometimes your cock hits part of it.

It depends on how the two of you fit together, what position you’re in, etc. Everyone’s different.

It feels weird to hit up against a coil, especially if you’re not expecting it. Not in an unpleasant way, just a ‘huh, there’s something solid in there and I just felt it’.

It’s not going to scratch or hurt you. Or her. And it’s not going to split your condom if you’re wearing one. Just carry on. And if it feels uncomfortable, for either of you, move. Change position.

When Jo had one fitted I definitely thought I was hitting something we asked a nurse and was told ‘no chance of that’ (not with that little thing!! )

It is tucked well away we were assured.

As some said up the thread - I think it’s the string, wire, whatever hanging down from the coil. That’s what us blokes find our cocks touching against.

I think some makes have thicker or more wiery strings than others. Mine are not too pokey (they fold against the neck of the womb) but R says he can still feel them on occasion. I've felt one woman's strings once but I had my whole hand in her!

Yeah sometimes you can depending where on the cycle you are (cervix lower then more chance) it'll bother you more than her probably.

When I had one donkey's years ago my husband could feel it, so I went back to my GP and she snipped a bit off the end.

She put it in and I don't think she was particularly good at it.

Just go slowly to start. Have a little delve around with your fingers and see if there's anything protruding.

Carlisle usually

One of my former partners was well over 11 inches and never mentioned being able to feel the coil strings.

They're not like sharp pokey things.

My husband could constantly feel my first one and the strings did cause irritation on his bellend

My coil now has no strings as I had a procedure done and it cut the strings by mistake probably a hospital job to remove it ..

He can still feel the actual coil but it causes more pain to me than him but he is quite above average so that probably explains it …

Had mine for years, doughnut has never said he could feel it or my ex husband (not at the same time, I know we are friends but even that is going too far!)

I'm sure if you are doing some weird and wonderful angles you might but I don't generally doing aerobatics when having sex

As far as I'm aware, it depends on the individual woman and also where she is on her cycle.

I can sometimes feel Alice's, or at least the 'ears' or whatever those bits are called.

"When Jo had one fitted I definitely thought I was hitting something we asked a nurse and was told ‘no chance of that’ "

I'm not sure why a nurse would say that because it's just not true. When a coil is first fitted there is more chance of it and also when the cervix is lower at a certain point in the cycle.

all loved up

I had to stop having a coil as it would hurt during sex. It also got dislodged.

My partners could feel them

There is no way you will touch the coil itself as it is actually in her womb. Correctly fitted the coil is passed completely through the cervix .The only thing you will feel is the strings. They are there so the coil can be removed.

If he can feel the actual coil then you need to get checked out. The coil itself should be in your womb and no part of it should be near the cervix entrance.

Well I have one and it doesn't hurt me however deep and hard he thrusts lol.

But he can feel the ends of the little wires sometimes, as can I with my fingers but they're not painful for him x

I have got the coil fitted but they tucked the strings with the coil. As in you cannot feel the strings at all. I've had a few cocks that has hurt like feels like it is in my bladder haha. But no one has said that they have felt a poking sensation.

It goes in the cervix, if you're hitting the cervix it isn't fun for her, coil or no coil. So, really, you shouldn't feel it.

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

It's not the actual coil you can feel. As mentioned above, it's pretty far in. It's likely the wire/string used to open/close when it's inserted. Had a similar experience with an Ex, she mentioned it yo her GP and that was the response

I have a coil and it’s been life changing but if I think about it makes my stomach feel queasy and legs go numb!

I’ve been told by quite a few guys they can feel it when things get a little rough but makes no difference to me
