Parents... Who's looking forward to the kids going back to school, college and uni?
Or even starting uni and being away for the first time?
I always have mixed feelings, mine is going into the last year of uni, I don't feel like we've had much chance to do anything together this summer, but I won't miss the messy kitchen!

I am. My windows have been egg'd twice so I'm looking forward to when the little shits are at the bus stop so I can throw things at them.

Usually I hate it when mine go back, the start of the holidays I usually cheer for the fact I can actually have my own kids to myself and we can do what we want.
But I've been so busy. We've been out doing a few things and I actually feel ready for some normality to come back.
I think for the first week of them being back I'd like to be off grid and a recluse  I could do with that!! |

We've had six weeks with Doughnuts son, we have him every holiday but the six weeks is a long stretch for us, however we have loved it and he's into trains massively and been down the steam railway most of this week, so he is a happy boy. We shall miss him.
My youngest starts uni next month...he's the same distance from me (hour away, he lives with his dad) but it's an hour in the other direction but much easier to get too (motorway not lanes) so seems closer weirdly.

I don’t want mine to go back, as we’ve had so much fun over the summer. The house is gonna feel empty and a little less joyful next week.
On the flipside, the return of power naps is a good thing. |

It's always the same it's a mixture of yes and no. Had a blast with the kids, done some of the kids yearly bucket list requests. But the weather has been a pain and we're an outdoors kind of a family. I do kind of like the structure of school life, but I don't miss all the ferrying around for after school activities. |

I’m a bit anxious as my youngest starts Comprehensive next week. He has ASD and he’s going from a small Valleys School to a massive Comprehensive, so I’m worried about his transition. His big brother is in the same School now, and the School run will be much easier at least.
Other than that I’ll miss them. I won’t miss the weather though, it’s been rubbish this Summer, and it was glorious the couple of weeks BEFORE they broke up  |

My oldest daughter is starting the final year of her degree in September. We got to spend four days together in Italy in July and I loved every second. Her life is so busy with Uni, work and my grandson so I appreciate any time we get together
My youngest has ASD and is not in a mainstream setting so very much looking forward to the new term starting and having more of a routine back
My youngest daughter is going into year 11 and is already worrying about her exams next summer |
