I believe, from my experience of the 90s, that you need to make direct eye contact, and flick your head a mere 15 degrees, quite sharply, then return to your original position.
Throw in an "alright" and you have mastered the first step, of Basic Male Communication 101.
You can use regional variations should you wish. However, this is dangerous, get it wrong, you might create a social faux pa.
Observe your surroundings, process. Then act.
Please relay back how this goes, and when the wedding will be.
