Think your username isnt great, you've already said you're boring, why do you think that you deserve conversation its tough here for guys, you have to stand out to make headway, you're competing with 1000s of guys in better shape, with better profiles, if you want to improve things work on your advert first, good luck  |

I’ve also met people not on here, through work or otherwise, who are just as “talkative”. I don’t think some of these people know that they’re actually poor at holding conversations. It’s remarkable, a side effect of the digital age, hence I am remarking upon it. Do with that what you will |

I said I’d rather move on earlier. I’ve worked in sales for a few years and you do get deliberate time wasters. They feign just enough interest to keep you talking but have no interest in going any further. I’ve never understood why people waste their own time like that but I agree. Identify them fast and move on |

Perhaps it's best not to continue conversing with uninteresting people.
I'm not sure it is a side effect of the digital age. All my life I've endured one sided, uninteresting conversations. Quite often though it's because there's no points of common interest between us. I have nothing to say that interests them and vice versa. If we're thrown together for any length of time a dull conversation for both of us ensues. |

Very often, the questions I'm being asked by someone only require a few words in response.
Especially when it becomes clear the person I'm speaking with hasn't bothered to read my profile, or thinks it doesn't apply to them.
Eg. Virtually blank shadow profile messages asking if I want to meet. Only response needed is 'no thanks'.
Get one of a dozen variations on the 'meet now for sex' message. Once again, 'no' is the only response needed.
I certainly don't have a problem having long conversations with people about topics that interest me

Many here will look at the profile before opening the message, and by then it's usually decided on whether or not a conversation will begin.
Work on expressing what you seek and it just may find you what you want. |

Try to be a little more positive buddy. If you're boring then fine and fair play for the self recognition, but your username is a little negative and your write up is that you are lonely. Everyone has a different ideal of what a conversation should be. Some people aren't aware that the conversation is being carried by the other person and fully believe their short responses is having good conversation. I can't speak for all women but for me, you get the same conversation energy you give me. |
