I think the topping determines the best bread. For baked beans or cheese then Aldi's malted bloomer takes some beating but it's a bit too tasty for jam where you want something like a generic white toasty loaf. Some days hot buttered white toast is just the best thing.

When lazy it's Warburtons toastie, the big one not that shite small one. Or a good crusty white loaf cut thick. In either case the toast must be well done. No toppings at all. Perfect with black coffee |
