I'm often indifferent about things but it's the norm for me so I've never thought about handling it.
As I just posted in another thread over of the joys of suffering from anhedonia is being completely indifferent to things that others get excited about such as holidays or big events.
I can enjoy them while they are actually occurring but have no feeling of looking forward to them beforehand and no afterglow.
The same is true for people.
I can be very indifferent to some people that others find stimulating or stunning. |

If I feel it coming it I try to move into a slightly more positive place - relaxation , maybe it’s a sign to unwind.
I have things ready - musicals typically or simple recipes! or openly acknowledge boredom , that will give me a push to be curious at least and learn something new |

I can be indifferent to people, things and events at times. Usually if I’m tired. Other times I’m spectacularly overexcited and annoying about them I don’t tend to worry about being indifferent, it is what it is |

I do and it's okay. It might be my indifference, or it could be theirs towards me.
I don't have infinite energy, so indifference can be helpful. |

I'm indifferent to the stuff that I don't deem of any importance. It's got a LOT easier to see as I've got older. And even more since the pandemic.
I think on the forum it's clear to see that I'm not generally a meh kinda person. |

Everyone does sometimes. I'd much rather be excited, pleased, thoughtful, even anxious or fearful. Life is brief; we'll be indifferent to everything when it's gone. The grave's a fine and private place, as the poet said, but none, I think, do there embrace.
Indifference, ennui, anhedonia - they come and go but it's good to get them gone as smartly as possible. Isn't that partly the point of Fab and sexual adventures and flirting and frisson and friendship? |

I'm almost never indifferent, because I want to feel everything. I'm normally very black & white. I feel a lot, and very deeply.
Indifference signals a grey, and they only grey stuff I want are some of my walls.

We are all indifferent about lots of things. Politics for example or the weather . However in friendships and relationships it is the change from a higher state down to one of indifference that causes the problems. I.e. the opposite of love is not hate it is indifference. |

"Indifference is a fairly standard emotional state for me. Takes quite a bit to move me these days.
Ambivalence is when I am not a happy bunny.

How do you deal with your 'ambivalent' state? "
Well that's probably got more questions than answers, but in the spirit of modernity.

I’ve survived terrible things and everything since has been indifference. Just don’t care much for anything unless I have a valid and serious reason to. |
