"Afternoon you bloody fab lot. Have any of you got a Dior bag. I’d like your thoughts if you have.
Yes I know they are stupidly expensive but I’m thinking of treating myself to one "
I don't have one but if you can afford to and really want one... go for it.
I do like quality handbags and they definitely last longer.
Latest purchase was a gorgeous handmade leather bag in Barcelona.

"I've got a Tesco's one. That was expensive. Paid 10p for it "
Cheapest is 40p at Morrisons !
I love Dior lipstick but not so much the bags, the understated plain black ones are nice , the fancier ones just look like strange statements of wealth & bad taste

"Theres no way I could justify spending that amount on a bag, what makes it worth that?"
Maybe it’s got three thousand pounds of cocaine in it?
Putting a value on things is really difficult, I know people who begrudge £5 for a taxi but will happily blow five grand on a holiday.
I guess it’s just about how much it’s wanted. |

I’ve wanted one for a good few years. I work hard (as does the next person) & I think I deserve a little treat. The last expensive thing I brought myself was a Louboutin lipstick which was £84 & oh my days I love it so much, wear it ever single day. I’m not generally flashy but it’s nice to treat yourself one in a while. Im more Primark than Prada on a daily basis |

I don’t have a Dior bag but I know someone who has several. I must say, they are lovely and with hers, it’s impossible to tell that they’re Dior unless you look very closely at the finer details on the bag.
The leather and workmanship is exquisite. That is what you’re paying for, not only the ‘name’.

Only you can choose, OP.
Don't be talked into or out of anything by anyone online.
You know your finance situation and whether or not it's a good buy long term, or simply something you'll enjoy short term.

No I absolutely get where you’re coming from! There’s been a few times I’ve stood in Harrods & got *this close* to buying but I’ve talked myself out of doing so I guess I have a lot of self doubt & does a cleaner really need a Dior bag |

"Have you considered reputable second hand sources or posh pawn shops.
That's where I would go for a designer bag.
"
Good suggestion.
If you do plonk for a new one, go to a Dior shop for it. The sales experience is half the fun. You can get it in Harvey Nicks. Harrods and wherever else but it isn’t quite the same as in their own shop.

Get that final thought out of your head! If it would make you happy, buy it!
It's your money. We all place value on different things, and there's no right or wrong in that sense. |

If it's something you'd love, you should go for it!
I've fallen in love with a Dior bag and am toying with the idea of purchasing it (the floral design is *chef's kiss* but I hate the logo being emblazoned on it. |

Make you you love the style and it’s timeless then because a lot of the fashion bags they do are not classics, you don’t want to end up feeling like a Gucci mum 2 years from now. I bought one of the girls a voyager purse years ago she still uses it they never go in or out of style |

If you can afford it and you're not going to end up financially short in other areas I'd say go for it. Life is too short.
I was lucky to actually stumble upon one in a preloved store and I love mine. |

If you’re having wobbles about it, I’d suggest that you not buy it. Only do it because you want to AND can do so confidently that it’s really what you want.

Now I just need to purchase it,if it were a bag off of eBay where I buy my Cath Kidston bags for a few quid it would be different but this is money on a bigger level. I can afford it,it’s just a big thing isn’t it. |

Do it.
I don't have a Dior bag but I have lots of other designer ones, they're worth the price tag as most are good quality bags you'll have for years and don't easily fall apart.
If you can afford it and you want it just do it, don't worry about validation from others
You can guarantee there will be at least one person who will either comment you have more money than sense or say you're bragging about being able to afford one cause we're in a cost of living crisis |

Yeah it is a big thing and fair play to you. Tbf I love Cath Kidston along with Radley, I couldn't justify spending that much on a bag, not when my bags get filled with work tatt and dog hair |

I’m not a flashy person in general,I buy a lot of clothes from either Primark or eBay. I have a few nice pieces of make up but got those for a significant birthday last year. I wear Tiffany sunglasses & my keyring is also a Tiffany one. It’s nice to sometimes buy decent things. Some people will spend thousands on a car & nobody bats an eyelid. |

I'm the same, I'm not flashy but I do appreciate quality. I have some designer clothes and some designer make up. I do love nice jewellery but I also love Pandora and will wear that daily. Yep, you shouldn't have to justify why you want to buy what you want, life's too far too short to not enjoy i |

I'd say not to buy it.....
Not because you don't deserve it, but you need to find "the" bag for you.
Looking online is so different to seeing the bags in person, you need to be able to touch it, look at it properly and then decide if it's the one you want.
Not liking something about a bag, whether it be a design, pattern, colour, branding, the zips etc etc will all make you change your mind or go off it within a short time.
Save your money until you can go look in person and you'll know when you see the bag for you. |

"Afternoon you bloody fab lot. Have any of you got a Dior bag. I’d like your thoughts if you have.
Yes I know they are stupidly expensive but I’m thinking of treating myself to one "
What thoughts are you seeking?
A Dior bag is seen as a higher end luxury handbag whereby there will be two types of buyers. One who will buy it, use it with great care and see it as an investment piece. Resale of Dior bags, especially some limited items such as Miss Dior bags can net far more than their cost new after stock is depleted.
The other type of buyer is the trendsetter who buys it, treats it poorly, simply sees it as the must have item of the season. They’ve basically wasted money in my opinion simply by not looking after it properly. They will one day sell it but it won’t sell for much. A lot of people who buy used luxury handbags love these types because they can buy a pre-owned item that looks lovely on the exterior but may have some damages, stains, or signs of use internally. It allows them to buy what may not have been attainable because they aren’t fussed with these blemishes. As a seller, you simply don’t want to be this type obviously.
Some advice if you do proceed with purchase, look at other Dior bags before you decide. You may not like any other styles but have a look anyway. Even if you’d fancied one particular one for ages, you may surprise yourself once you have the opportunity to put it over your shoulder, arm, or simply hold it. It may not feel, or look as you expected it would and you may find you fancy another style far more. If this is going to be your once in a lifetime purchase, make sure you think about what the piece means to you. Will you treat it with care? Will you keep it forever or would you consider one day selling it and purchasing something else? If you fell on hard times and needed cash would you sell it? If so, be certain your purchase is something that is already shown to do well in the resale handbag market. You can have a quick Google for reputable handbag resellers. Most will list most requested and sold bags and types.
It could be that this handbag gets you into luxury handbags and that’s all you’ll ever buy. You could also use the one handbag for a bit, and sell it onward to finance more than one future handbag purchase. Or even a different purchase you one day fancy in the future.
As a brand, obviously it’s high quality. Give yourself the experience of going to Dior rather than through a retailer. That’s half the fun of purchasing luxury handbags. |

My late wife loved handbags. My brother and I at Christmas would buy for her . Not Dior , but she liked other high end brands. For a couple years we purchased online handbags. I paid by credit card. This happened several times with different web sites that sent new site addressees.
Bags ordered. Noticed not UK site , but charged in UK pounds . Contacted credit card to ask if fake , being scammed. Reply I received was. Wait six weeks to see if goods arrive or notification goods impounded . Would receive refund.
Yes handbags did arrive and had custom stamp to say genuine goods. Paid about one third of normal price with post and packaging.
