My definition of made it in life is having reached a place of contentment while still having goals to strive towards.
I consider that we've made it..this far. We've lived through some bloomin hard times, some really good times and some ordinary times. We've come out the other side, we've retired and we live the best life we can. We're not wealthy or even well off and we value our quality of life.
I'm not sure you can ever say you've made it though, until the day you die. |

Congratulations OP for a question that’s not the usual mundane bore fest!
Living in the UK, it was easy to complain about the costs of fuel, butter from the co-op and fifteen quid cocktails in Soho!
Since living in Asia most of the time, my view of “made it” has never been more compelling; I watch guys tend to the gardens that are planted on duel carriageways with huge smiles on their faces; twelve hours a day, no complaints as they’re “feeding their children” and have “a great standard of living”; their words, not mine!
I guess “made it” is akin to a beautiful soul, entirely in the eyes of the beholder
For clarity, I fucked the UK off because of fuel costs, the price of butter in the co-op and cocktails in Asia that are twice as lethal and a third of the price! |

I've got enough money to look after myself and my family . Cars house .. but I have no interest in the latest Jordan trainers or the kardashians or what shit jay z and Beyoncé have made.. once you see the world for what it truly is right now in this time once you understand the attack that is in place on your average person none of this matters anymore it's all materialistic bullshit put in place to distract you from what's really happening |

Nice to see that not everybody associates that with money and wealth. Life events and the way we feel about things can really change dramatically from day to day and often based not just on tangible things. Good health, family, friends above all. Good work life balance and enough money to allow you to live without having to struggle play their role too. More importantly that state of mind or position in life you are refering to though will be hugely different from one person to another. |

1. I have a roof over my head
2. My kids have grown up to be bloody great humans
3. I’ve a job I love and provides me all I need
4. I have a small selection of friends I love and can rely on and
5. I am grateful for today |

"I don’t want a perfect life, I want a happy life, and
once I think i made that.
I’m waiting for that again. That’s when I know I’ve made it. "
This.
By most peoples definitions of 'made it' I'm somewhere near the polar opposite right now having in my head been there, and then had the rug pulled from beneath my feet.
But despite a massive lifestyle change and a fuck load of new challenges to content with, I'm alive and not sleeping in a shop doorway.
There are people far worse off than me health wise, financially and with nobody to help them.
So things could be a lot worse.
No matter how shite you think things are, 99.9% of the time there'll be someone worse off than you. Remember that and it'll always keep you sane and focused.

Personally making it for each person is an individual thing.
Some are are bare basics in life in order to live comfortably and survive.
After that it’s a question of what you value that will make life better than good.
Material things I’ve chased since I was 13, don’t need to chase that anymore and I live very comfortably.
Now it’s more personal goals and things which enhance one’s life.
This is when the real contentment comes into it.
I plan to retire at 45….work hard, don’t get distracted and been consistent. Small steps, big changes and not getting it the first time ain’t a failure
Just my two penny’s worth! X |

Not sure if I have 'made it' because that can mean different things to different people, however I am happy in my life, I have a job I love, financially stable and I am at peace with my past and happy with who I am/who I'm becoming |

As a female, I don't need a man to provide me anything. |
