My father was an organisational consultant earning approx. 3 times the national average of around £1000 or so . Happy times.

We called him Father. He brought chocolate and newspapers home each evening.

Mother would bring coal to the fire in the early years but that soon ended when father suggested she take a domestic on to perform all duties and not just the heavy ones.

Musician in a band. They gigged around the northwest, made a single with Decca and supported the Rolling Stones and a few other famous bands of their time. Then the band split up and he worked in a jeweller’s for a while.
